Stefanski is the best outfielder on the team and he's riding the pine most of the time. SMH. I happy he's showing what he has tonight.

Stefanski should be starting CF every game, but I feel Kruger has earned a spot in the lineup. Stefanski is by far the best outfielder on the team in terms of fielding and he's a solid bat. He constantly puts good swings on the ball and has only struck out 2 times in 51 at bats.
You called it. Great throw by Stefanski. Zapata battles back.

After the throw out, Chris Jones just said that he would be shocked if Stefanski doesn't start tomorrow. However, I have a feeling he will be playing in place of Toppa.

I disagree about the X factor, as I lost all confidence in Zapata long before tonight. Still, he isn't being helped by his fielders tonight.
I think he can do it. Look at the kids Fr. Year stats. 2.57 ERA and in 63 innings only gave up 39 hits. He can be good.

Which makes sense... Kruger has value in lineup (outside tonight's brain fart).

I know why Toppa is the obvious choice to be replaced by Stefanski after today's misplay in LF and not paying attention on the bases, but I'd be okay with Feldstein sitting for a few games.

Should be Krueger, his blunder cost a run and changes the momentum of the game.

Kruger needs to play LF. He doesn't get great reads on the ball (i.e. Memphis game 1 last week) and his arm is not good. He should be in the lineup though because he does work the count and he's consistent. You know what you're getting with him.

Agree.. based on batting stats he should stay in lineup though... Feldstein too based on avg/rbi's. Toppa odd man out right now. Not an easy call.

Overall the team needs a shakeup. Outside of Yahn, Lambrecht, Cate and Stefanski there was little to no fight.

Feldstein is still dealing with a foot/knee injury maybe you platoon Winkel and him until one produces on a consistent basis. I feel Toppa is turning the corner at the plate. He's getting back to his strength which is to power the ball to the opposite field.

.-.
Gnesda is another candidate to come out of the lineup, with Feldstein moving to Dan Hurley. However, I still think Toppa is the most likely guy out of the lineup tomorrow.

I agree, we will not see Toppa tomorrow.

And it has been a steady progression downhill ever since. Zapata has the same problems that plagued Montgomerie, but never overcame them.

Standings after tonight'a conference action... need to right the ship and grab next two and all will be well ;)

We need to get off to faster starts. We pitched and fielded fine except for the bottom of the third inning, but this offense has to jump on people.

Feldstein for Gnesda /Toppa and Stefanski
in outfield w/ Kruger:

Might be the best defensive outfield that UConn can put out on the field. Gnesda comes out, he has a decent batting average, not much power, but has one of the better on base percentages on the team, as he is the team leader in taking walks.

Hope we get lights @ JOC soon so they can practice catching pop ups under the fake sun.

Montgomerie strikes out the first two batters he faces, then Lambrecht and Winkel let a pop up drop in. Montgomerie ends of striking out the side to get out of trouble. Overall, one of the easier 1st innings Wills has had this season.

.-.
Bottom 2nd, Montgomerie gets two strike outs during a 1-2-3 inning. Montgomerie already has 5 strikeouts.

Montgomerie is really on tonight. 7 strikeouts through 3 innings.

Susi double drives in Stefanski in the top of the 4th. 1-0 UConn.

LMAO - Guessing they didn't think that called strike was in the zone?

Bottom 4th, Tulane gets a run off a two out rally to tie the game up at one.
