UConn @ Tulane - Thursday 4/13 @ 7:30p ET, Friday 4/14 @ 730p ET & Saturday 4/15 @ Noon

Easy 5th inning for Montgomerie, he's up to 10 strikeouts now.

Rough 6th inning for Montgomerie, might have been his last for this game.

Top 7th, Feldstein leads of the inning with a double but is stranded there. UConn offense hasn't presented much in the way of threats all game.

3 hits! And I see both Krueger and Toppa started. Way to send a message.

Christian Colletti, who spent two years on the UConn baseball team, comes in to pitch the bottom of the 7th for Tulane.

Tulane wins 3-1, and former Husky Colletti gets the save. Very little in the way of offensive threats at all tonight for UConn.

Gotta a little help from Memphis tonight w/ win over Houston and Cincy over USF

So despite UConn's poor play of late, a win today keeps the Huskies in first place in the tough AAC. A loss puts them in 2nd in a potential tie with Houston.

When everything is boiled down, two things have led to UConn losing the first two games against Tulane. UConn's total lack of offense during this series, and a bases loaded infield pop up that got lost in the low lights at Tulane's field. Three runs scored on that play, and it really opened up the floodgates on Thursday night.

Today is not a night game, so the Huskies don't need to worry about balls being lost in the low lights that Chris Jones has been talking about during the series. It also means that Zac Susi will probably be the Dan Hurley, meaning that Isaac Feldstein has to move back to the outfield if he plays. Also, does Gnesda and his on base percentage make it back into the lineup today at 1B in place of Winkel?

Would have thought we'd see Moriarty today... missing his bat (unless I missed he's unavailable for some reason)

No Gnesda either. Penders seems to be throwing everything at the wall to see what sticks to get this slump.

I'm guessing there is a mistake in the lineup, and that Susi is the Dan Hurley and LeFevre is catching. With Susi at Dan Hurley, either Gnesda or Winkel has to come out of the lineup.

Two hits and a strikeout looking to start the game. We need to start posting some crooked numbers.

2-0 UConn, courtesy of an atrocious error.

3-0 UConn now after a Toppa double.

Nice to see that it looks like the boys came ready to play today.

Chris Jones player availability report. He says that Conor Moriarty has been sick this weekend, keeping him out of the lineup so far. Also, Aaron Hill scheduled to return to the field possibly for the Quinnipiac game on Monday.

Okay... so it wasn't the damn lights this time... wtf!

I have to admit that I resisted this morning the urge to mention possible problems with sun and wind during a day game.

Aside from the Lambrecht misplay, Feole has no problems in the 2nd. Seems like he is on his game again.

Bottom 3rd, UConn gets a break when a runner interference call at 2B results in a double play. Feole strikes out the next batter to end the inning.
