So despite UConn's poor play of late, a win today keeps the Huskies in first place in the tough AAC. A loss puts them in 2nd in a potential tie with Houston.
When everything is boiled down, two things have led to UConn losing the first two games against Tulane. UConn's total lack of offense during this series, and a bases loaded infield pop up that got lost in the low lights at Tulane's field. Three runs scored on that play, and it really opened up the floodgates on Thursday night.
Today is not a night game, so the Huskies don't need to worry about balls being lost in the low lights that Chris Jones has been talking about during the series. It also means that Zac Susi will probably be the DH, meaning that Isaac Feldstein has to move back to the outfield if he plays. Also, does Gnesda and his on base percentage make it back into the lineup today at 1B in place of Winkel?
