UConn Signees: Christyn W. and ONO

1/12

Olivia Nelson-Ododa with 30 points and 13 rebounds Friday night.

Christyn Williams didn't play for CAC.

I never thought of that. Not a bad guess.
Houston & Austin are about as close as UConn will get to Arkansas this year other than Memphis (Jan 24). Memphis is only 2 hours away, but that's a Wednesday afternoon game and hardly the attraction of a weekend topped of with UConn-Texas.

Maybe she'll be at both. CAC doesn't play again until next Friday.

Bret appears to prefer quality to quantity. Both the Baylor and Texas classes are much larger and very good.

There's a case for that logic. Think it depends on how big one perceives the gaps are between some of the top players.

McCormick had UConn #1 this year too but he includes transfers in his rankings.

I understand the logic. He must think that Liv is really, really good.

Not many schools had a player like Z coming in this year. Probably none.

Nelson-Ododa had a mixed bag performance against one of the top-5 teams in the nation Tuesday:

12 points (4-12 FG, 4-7 FT), 14 rebounds, 2 blocks

Liv can dribble the ball pretty well and shows nice form on her midrange shot. The spin move in the 3rd video is sweet!

Sluconn is right. There is only 1 more player in 2018 under consideration. It's Ezi Macbegor, who has different options than most Americans. She can stay at home in Australia and play pro ball, or she came come to a U.S. college for an education and to develop her basketball skills. So, her recruitment and timetable are different. How good is she, and is she worth waiting for? Really, really, really good, and absolutely. As noted by another BYer, if she were an American, she would be the #1 ranked recruit.

She just signed with a local team.

SEABL

Their season kicks off in April and runs through July so she'd miss Summer school if she were to come to the US.

The article is from 7 weeks ago. We may have known that. As you point out, though, it would preclude summer school in the U.S.

Christyn Williams scored 17 points Friday.

Olivia Nelson-Ododa reached 1,500 points for her career.

Impressive stuff. To drift a bit: If a 17-year-old can use her left hand around the basket, why can't a certain 6-6 22-year-old?
