UConn "Secret" Scrimmages

I can't believe there haven't been any leaks about the scrimmage. It would be nice to know how some performed and if anything or anyone stood out. I really don't care about stats or the score, it's just a scrimmage but how they performed as a team and if anything or anyone surprised onlookers positively or negatively.

I had a hunch Harvard had a fan website where I could maybe gather some info about the game, but I was wrong.

All they have is an official sports website, and nothing else.

That official site mentions nothing about the scrimmage, which does not surprise me.

I didn’t see anything about the game.

Interesting.

Probably not popular to say this and I know this G-town game means nothing but I was not happy about Akok wanting to leave. Even last year I felt he deserved and would have been more helpful with more playing time. I guess this year he will get it and we will see. I think I’m right though as I predict a good year for him.

We beat the absolute tar out of Iowa St. No stats were kept so there’s no box score, but was told it wasn’t close and we ran our backups/walk on’s for a pretty fair piece of time at the end. They had no answer for Kalk. They’re projected as a bottom end Big 12 team so take that with a grain of salt.

We’re not gonna take it w anything cuz we don’t care

Primo Spears from Windsor right?
Yeah. Would’ve been a nice pickup for us because he’s extremely confident and wouldn’t have worried about playing time competition with other guards. But we did more than fine anyway

Meh. He's a good player but super inefficient. If we're going to recruit kids to a microwave off the bench, I'd prefer a higher %s shooting the rock. Calcaterra and Alleyne definitely fit that bill. Diarra isn't a particularly good shooter, but he's coming from a better conference and is a bulldog defender.

I missed that site.

But, I notice UVA has a few message board sites. The one below talks about their scrimmage with Maryland, so I would think this board or the OP on October 29 or the day after would talk about the game after they play us.

He’s probably holding onto the info to give it to the local media for Monday. You know how tidy is with those guys.

Frustrating to still have no info but tip of the cap to Hurley

Guy runs a much tighter ship than what we’ve seen in the past

It’s ridiculous if some writers weren’t able to attend and report. Not happy with that part of our HC at all, frustrating for sure!

I like to think it’s for the greater good but yeah this time of the year the fans are dying for some news and so far zilch

Hurley doesn't control the Harvard side of things though, I figured the guy that turns on the lights or someone might talk a bit.
I know the guy who manages their facility repairs, but unless they had a door, light or lock replaced during the game, I doubt he was there.

We will get the real reveal soon enough.

If he even paid attention to the game or if somebody with a UConn connection knew him and asked him(how likely is that?), or a student at Harvard asked him and then posted about it which did not appear to be the case.

To him, maybe it was just and up and down the court game and he isn't a basketball fan, or he swept the floor outside the gym for most of the game, and came back to lock up the place after the players departed.

After all, he is probably paid overtime for opening and locking it up so maybe Harvard has him doing other duties in the meantime.

A lot of dots to connect.
