ESPN went all in on sports betting and it has gone belly up.

When I was there about 8 years ago (ugh, time flies) there were discussions about if they should do betting or not, like get into it. There were a lot of people who thought it was next big thing. And hence, we get ESPN Bet, which was a spectacular failure.

DraftKings and FanDuel run it online. For all ESPN did, its promos and cross collaborations and pushing...they couldn't dent market share at all.

I thought ESPN only licensed its brand to the service and cross-promoted them in the app?! but it wasn't owned by them (Barstool)...

That's correct. It was owned by PENN Entertainment... it's now called the theScore Bet.

Honestly, the weather would be what reels me in if I could make it. Boston with holiday decor still up and a fresh coat of snow is amazing. A snow day in Boston is one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever experienced. The old neighborhoods like Beacon Hill transport you back to the 1700’s when the snow kills all of the road noise and the city goes quiet. I was fortunate to move to Boston for the winter of 95-96, which was the snowiest winter on record to that point. It was a snow globe all winter and I explored the hell out of that city. Fantastic memories. I was sad to find out that a beautiful girl that I spent some fun times with that winter died suddenly two weeks ago. Very sad. Has me missing Beantown. Get out there if you can.
