UConn is going Bowling > Wasabi Fenway Bowl v. Army (Saturday 12/27/25 @2:15 on ESPN)

Honestly, the weather would be what reeled me in if I could make it. Boston with holiday decor still up and a fresh coat of snow is amazing. A snow day in Boston is one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever experienced. The old neighborhoods like Beacon Hill transport you back to the 1700’s when the snow kills all of the road noise and the city goes quiet. I was fortunate to move to Boston for the winter of 95-96, which was the snowiest winter on record to that point. It was a snow globe all winter and I explored the hell out of that city. Fantastic memories. I was sad to find out that a beautiful girl that I spent some fun times with that winter died suddenly two weeks ago. Very sad. Has me missing Beantown. Get out there if you can.

-> However, the Fenway Sports Group was anxious to get UConn back in Boston and approach last year’s attendance, 27,900. They found a another spot for their ACC tie-in team and invited UConn back to play Army, now in the AAC. <-

-> “We’ve got a couple of options, if I have to, I’ll go out there and finish the game,” Sammis deadpanned. “I can still hand it off and not pull something. We’ve got a plan, a couple of guys ready to go. The beauty of having this time off, we can have guys with multiple reps ready, we can have multiple plans to be able to do what we have to do to win the game.”

If Nick Evers, the most experienced quarterback, were going to start, UConn would likely have said so. If he is not available, freshman Ksaan Farer, who played a handful of plays on Oct. 4, would be Plan A. Tucker McDonald, the other QB, has been out with a hand injury. Sammis could run some “wildcat” plays where the ball is snapped directly to a running back. <-

OK I’ll ask this question since most of the chatter is in this thread it’s probably a dumb question.

Can you buy a ticket at the box office, asking for a friend who is very very not internet savvy and only buys tickets at the box office.

Not gonna lie -- weather has me on the fence right now.
We are headed up tonight instead of tomorrow. Was able to add a night at the Hilton Back Bay. Party now starts tonight. Not too worried about tomorrow. Our seats are covered and we have access to the Dell Technologies Club to stay warm, eat and drink.

There are a number of <$150 hotel rooms in the city tonight for anyone else worrying about the weather.

I spoke to someone at the UConn Athletic office today and they told me you can approach the box office and they can sell you any ticket(s), as long they are not sold out. I can't really tell if they are sold out, but the last time I check the mlb.com site for tickets, only section 20 had seats available for sale.

I personally will most likely buy on StubHub tomorrow hoping the price comes down for the seats that I want. Even though I live in Boston, my mentality is if I am going for this once a year game, I don't want to compromise on quality. This Farmers Insurance commercial sums it up.

Chat GPT is telling me there is a media flip card that is the equivalent of a two deep for those who have followed the team. Apparently neither Evers nor Fagnano are listed as available. Apologies if this has already been discussed.

I'm gonna play it by air I may just end up buying my friend a ticket. I'm a buy a ticket at the box office guy myself but you do have to be aware of the market and the stadium unlike my friend lol . I have 2 tickets in RF box 5 btw I see there's no more availability there but I'm more then fine with sitting wherever there's an empty seat and walking around.

My biggest concern is not the offense. I think we have enough on offense that any QB can be successful. My concern is the defense. We have had problems stopping the run all season. I would have preferred we played a pass heavy team.

C’mon Steiny. You can do it. Bundle up, wear a hat and drink warm beverages. It’ll be an experience
I'll do my part...I'm going to watch it on the beach. (The water temp is 65degrees, so the meteorologist said the water will be cold. That is according to Florida standards, it would be a nice swimming weather in Maine in the summer.😀)

It will interesting to see if McDonald actually takes any snaps. The rumors are that Farrar will start. Maybe not. Sammis is not tipping his hand ( we have 2 quarterbacks ready to go ). With the cold weather and the offensive players that we are missing, I am guessing we will see a lot of running including option read plays with our quarterbacks and some wildcat formations. I am excited to see what Sammis's actual offensive game plan will actually be. GO HUSKIES!

Me too. And that also just occurred to me. As well as seeing what the QB's can do. I am mystified by Evers, though. If he is headed for the portal, why would he not play? Does he want the film from last year to be the sum total of his body of work? If so, it won't get him a step up. Or perhaps he is done with football?

Ok I have stopped following along with the bowl because the number of starters not playing has really turned me off right now. I’ll still watch and cheer them on of course, but it’s not the same, especially since we are going for ten wins which means something to the fans, but not the players obviously. I digress. How many players who are normally on the two deep or starting sitting out? No need for names, just a number, and apologies if this has been mentioned somewhere else. I’m also counting, if I’m following along well, 9 on the two deep who are also in the portal? I may be too low on that though.

Evers seems like a nice kid but I can’t say I’ve ever seen him do anything that made sense

Just guessing he has concluded he needs a step back for PT. And UConn may not offer what he want in grad school. Who knows.

Like FAU?

Tomorrow a whole enterprise (including fans, band/cheer, support) will go out into the elements to do a very hard thing - win a game against an opponent who won’t give an inch. In general, when we are being sold on the daily that a frictionless, convenient life is something to want and envy, I’m glad there are people committed to doing hard things. Particularly the players, of course including USMA. This is not a meaningless game.
