Bottom 6th, Gallagher with a quick scoreless inning. 6-1 UConn. Gallagher with 0 walks and 4 strikeouts on the game.
 
Pat with another quick inning. FIU starting to get harder contact on him, but are not stringing anything together and we are giving them no gifts besides Padilla's errors. Still 6-1, 7th inning.

I like me some amenities ;) 7-1 UConn after yet another wild pitch by FIU, and this time their catcher (who has played really good baseball stopping most of these pitches in the dirt) finally lets one go by.

Gallagher back out for the 7th.
 
Anyone know what Gallagher's fastball velocity is for this game? I haven't heard it on the radio; maybe I missed it.

Scoreless inning from Coe. Do we see another arm in the 9th or do we let Coe go out and do his thing again? If Coe pitches the 9th efficiently, everyone but him will be available tomorrow out of the bullpen...then again, Coe still hasn't given up a run this year. Good problem to have.

Sounds like there are as many UConn fans there as FIU fans. Then again FIU has had nothing to cheer for this series.
 
Top 9th, a Simmons double, he scores on a Fedko one out single. 9-1 UConn. Korey Morton pinch runs for Fedko.
 
RBI murder hound Fedko making his case for more consistent playing time today, and nails an RBI single to make it 9-1. Style points are nice for making a case to be ranked.
 
Bottom 9th, freshman Brady Afthim takes the mound for UConn, his second appearance for the Huskies.
 
Afthim with the scoreless inning, UConn wins 9-1.

Terrific effort. The nitpicks for the night are the inability to get a sac bunt down and Padilla’s defense. FIU’s sunday starter is no joke though; Gator transfer who wasn’t bad in Gainesville and has been lights out this year.
