Bullpen in great shape. Cook threw 18 pitches, Willis threw 11. Both could come in another game this series. The only thing that might keep Cooke out of another game this series is if he ends up getting the start on Tuesday against Hartford. We'll see what happens. Whatever the case, anyone getting the idea that Ian Cooke is the real thing?

Guessing that Matt Garbowski will get the start behind the plate tonight. He's caught one game in each weekend series so far, I would think that would continue for now. Also wondering if Bushling will get a game off this weekend due to his back spasms.

Funny thing, you can go a long time with not seeing a strikeout passed ball with someone reaching base because of it. But there was also one of those in the North Florida series last week, so they seem to be spreading in UConn games. Three in the last two weekends.
 
Top 2nd, Simmons with a lead off single, he is stranded at 2B. No score.
 
Bottom 2nd, an FIU batter reaches on a 1 out error by Padilla, followed by a 2 out single. Gallagher strands two runners in scoring position. No score.

Smith not getting down a bunt may wind up costing us a run this inning. Two singles have been sandwiched between smith’s K.
 
Top 3rd, Padilla with a leadoff single, Bushling follows with a 1 out single. Stock with an RBI single to make it 1-0 UConn. Dana with an RBI double, 2-0 UConn with 1 out with 2 runners in scoring position.
 
Offense continues to hit for average. 2-0 good guys with hopefully more to come.
 
Fedko the rbi master with a great at bat to walk in the 3rd run. Continue the rally young guys!

Bottom 3rd, the stat tracker is messed up, doesn't look like we'll have the pitch count working for Gallagher tonight. They are missing the second inning pitches for him.

Padilla really struggling with the glove today. FIU has a 2 out rally going.
 
Bottom 3rd, Gallagher retires the first 2 batters. Padilla with a 2 out error for his second error of the game. Gallagher strands 2 runners on base. 3-0 UConn. Huber with a solid play to save a run from scoring and to end the inning.
 
Huber picks up Padilla with a gold glove play! Still 3-0 in the 4th, time for Padilla to atone for his error at the plate with his hot bat.

No walks for Pat today.
 
Padilla 2/2 at the plate tonight after another single. Love it! FIU starter is approaching 70 pitches so it looks like we will get into their terrible bullpen pretty soon.

Smith fails to get another bunt down. Very frustrating.
