Looks like Friday and Sunday starters have pitches real well through the first two weekends. Saturday guy has struggles but was fairly highly touted out of high school. Not sure competition was stellar but this is gonna be a major step up from UNF I have a feeling.

The FIU Sunday starting pitcher is a lefty, so I would guess that Christian Fedko will be in the starting lineup at least for that game. We'll see how it all goes.

Chris Brown has started the season in a big slump. Coach Penders tends to move players up and down in the lineup depending on how well they are hitting.
 
Bottom 1st, with 1 out Peterson walks his second batter of the young season. Strands the runner at 2B, and strikes out 2 in the process. No score.
 
Top 2nd, with 2 outs, UConn gets a run on an infield error. No hits for UConn that inning, and Simmons was picked off 2B for the second out, potentially disrupting a bigger inning scoring wise. FIU with an error and a passed ball on a strikeout that otherwise would have ended the inning with no runs coming in. 1-0 UConn.

Top 3rd, UConn with a scoreless inning. Stock with a 2 out single now has an 18 game hitting streak.
 
Bottom 3rd, Peterson retires the side in order, picks up another strikeout. He is at 50 pitches on the game.

Chris Jones says Devin Kirby is on this trip and may pitch. Leo Socci is out for the year, he just had Tommy John surgery.
 
Top 4th, Simmons with a leadoff single, Huber follows with a 1 out single. They are stranded, Brown strikes out to end the inning. 1-0 UConn.
 
Bottom 4th, first 3 FIU batters reach base on singles to tie the game at 1 with no outs. Peterson retires next three batters, the last two on strikeouts with no more runs scoring. Peterson with 7 strikeouts on the game, and is now at 73 pitches.

Helleva play by Peterson coming off the mound on the bunt attempt to throw lead runner out @ third.
 
Chris Jones says Bushling was having back spasms before the game. It may be affecting his play tonight.
