Chris Jones speculating on a staff day for the Hartford game on Tuesday.
Sure appears we have some guys who didn’t sniff the mound this weekend that need some work…

Top 8th, Chris Brown leads off pinch hitting for Bushling, he strikes out.

UConn loads the bases with 1 out, a wild pitch brings in another run to make it 10-0. Ben Huber with a single driving in another run to make it 11-0. Pitching change again.

Some out of town scores of interest. Northeastern up 6-0 in 7th against #8 NC State and going for the sweep. N. Florida up 5-0 in 2nd on Boston College.
I occasionally check other northeast teams. Rutgers hiring of Owens from Bryant is showing dividends. On their way to being 9-1 to start the year

Wow, do we really have some guys making a statement for additional playing time.

Nice to see Smith starting to hit. Leadoff has been one of the few issues for this offense (not a crippling weakness, but not a strength) but Smith has had some nice swings today.

Smith and Simmons are tied for the team lead in walks so far in this short season.

I know, I'm dinging him a bit for lack of clutch hitting and some missed opportunities for sac bunts. It says a lot about our team when he's been the "least good" part of our offense.

Sully gets the ball in the bottom of the 8th and gets a strikeout to start us off.

Korey Morton with a double, he has 4 hits today, including 2 doubles.
As for Korey Morton, he is certainly an interesting talent. His bat did not impress me for most of his summer season in Norwich last year, but he did do better on offense towards the end of the season.
Curious, how much beer do you and Mrs @dbmill consume while watching games in Norwich? ;)

Top 9th, Huber gets a 2 out double, enabling backup catcher Ryan Hyde to get his first career at bat as a Husky. Hyde pops out.
