i know beggars shouldn't be choosers but i realllyyy hope the guys don't play in a bowl against a G5 team, if we end up 8-4. If by some miracle we beat Syracuse and then handle UMass, I DEF do not want to end up playing old dominion/GA Southern or someone like that. would be great to get a last shot at a mid P4 program.

My impression (and it's only an impression) is that there are big differences and that unless you are talking about an elite bowl, none of them come close to covering expenses. And as part of the deal the schools have to take an allotment of tickets which they then resell. That requirement is rarely a money maker.

Here you go.

After checking several sites, most only have the CFP payouts for the 2024-2025 bowl season. Everything I pulled up was one or two years old but it should give some idea of how much is paid out.

The Frisco bowl is in Frisco (TX), which is basically in North Dallas. Do people call San Francisco "Frisco" anymore?

I’m not sure that is really true anymore. It used to be that schools needed to buy a certain number of tickets but that isn’t the case any more. I suppose it depends on how you calculate costs, too. But I believe the bowls pay for transportation and they make a payout. The Myrtle Beach bowl was on the lower end. But nice place and a good time except for the outcome!
