Who is they?

Frisco is DFW Metro. If you didn't know, it might be time to brush up on your geography.
“ They” is anyone who knows anything about San Francisco. Time for you to brush up on your knowledge of major US cities. I confess to ignorance of many satellites of major US cities.

Idk man, my family that lives in SF seem like a pretty good source.

How many of you still dress like the kid in the video and wear that style of glasses.

I guessing 65% of active users...
Whats wrong with that?!

I can only blame myself for reading all the way to the end of this thread thinking I was going to see some update on a possible location. I'm going back to the Key Tweets to see if we're in the Big12 yet.

For the record, I am not the one who edited the Wikipedia article above to add “Frisco” to the list of SF nicknames And while @ChinDiesel (who I suspect has called San Francisco “Frisco”) might latch on to one source, another that won’t paste easily here, lists it first while acknowledging locals don’t like it. It is a widely used nickname , @CCSUblue and family need to revisit whether or not the City by the Bay is ever called “Frisco” which undoubtedly for most Americans as soon as they hear the name “Frisco” think immediately of the most famous bowl game in the country.

I have spent time in San Fran for about a week in either 2009 or 2010 and have connected through SFO a couple of times. I have zero memories of what I have called it in the past and until today I had no idea anyone cared if it is called "Frisco". Nor would I care one way or another if it annoyed locals. I've also known for many years Frisco is part of the DFW metro area.
But, now that I know some locals may get annoyed by it, I can promise if I ever go there again, the only way I will refer to the area is as "Frisco".

Turns out there is also a Frisco, Colorado. Near Breckinridge. Who knew?

A bowl game at 7000' feet in Colorado in December doesn't sound very appealing.

Some unsuspecting fans might buy a ticket there by mistake. I prefer the Boca Raton Bowl. Many of my high school classmates have retired to that area . I can probably get free room and board. Isn’t it fun to be talking UConn bowl games. How bad could our QBs be?

Not to beat a dead horse, but this is sort of funny. I was just talking with my son who is a partner in the NYC office of a law firm headquartered in San Francisco. So I casually asked him what comes to mind when i say “Frisco” and without hesitation he said, a name people use for San Francisco that natives there hate. For the record, he never once said “Do you mean the town near Dallas? “ and he is very well traveled including Texas many times and a big sports fan.

Wait — you think most of us think listening to this discussion is fun?

You are listening? This is a visual medium. One man’s fun is another man’s waste of time in a rather unserious environment. Go Huskies in whatever bowl we wind up in. I will watch even if I have no clue where the heck it is.

If I'm interpreting this correctly, apparently we're playing in the Frisco bowl in Texas, but the Boneyard tailgate is being held at Alcatraz.
Alcatraz is hosting the Birdman Bowl. Plenty enough bars there to satisfy any BYer.

Gotcha covered. This article is from yesterday. The Exploria is a newish, really nice soccer stadium in Orlando. This would be awesome for me.
