UConn 2025 Outbound Transfers (Dec. 9th > 28th 2024 & April 16th > 25th 2025 Cycle) *No Speculation*

Jumping ship to a school like Auburn seems like a near no-brainer if the goal is to make money now. They have deeper pockets so there’s a chance to make money sooner rather than later. But if the goal is the NFL, I’m not sure this is the right move. I don’t know anything about Auburns RB depth but with such a large brand, there’s a chance they’ll pay for a deep line-up of RB’s. To get to the next level, a player needs playing time and game film. He may not get that at Auburn but will certainly get that at UConn. I know I’m biased but I don’t think it’s worth it if the goal is NFL
You could also tear a knee up and be done. If you're gonna make 50k here and someone offered 300k that's a no brainer. I'm making numbers up by the way.

He would also not have been the feature back here. Sucks for us, but if the choice is 3 to 4 times the money for the same role, then you have to take it

This is just the beginning. Teams were clearly reaching out already before he announced. I hate that side of all of this. It's not free agency until regular season games are over but I know teams reach out to players before then. He ain't gonna risk injury in a bowl game with P4 teams calling.
I said that before as I have heard from my brother who is an Ole Miss guy and how they reach out early. Of course it is illegal but how it is done.

I think he might've ended up being our featured back... if he stuck around... He was that good I thought... But, in hindsight, I think he might've been looking for more notariety at a higher level of competition that is (dare I say it, because we need to be a part of one) already in a P4 or P5 level conference...

There's 2 RBs that we had this season that did something extremely well (Robinson and Brown), now one (Robinson) needs to be replaced... that was to get going North/South, in a hurry... My hope is Rosa picked up a few things from the 2 and fills in nicely for '25... He's extremely talented too, but, if he can get going North/South a tad quicker, we don't/won't have a drop off whatsoever (barring injury).. with that said we still gotta replace Robinson (and bring another back in due to the portal stuff)

Hopefully he changes his mind, but can't fault the kid for trying to get the best chance at getting drafted. UConn will get him drafted for sure but moving to a P2 school gives him more "high profile" currently. Wish all the portal players nothing but the best.
Hopefully he makes a good decision for himself but, he may learn that as with anything in life, there's a risk to chasing more money just for money's sake. Unless, or course, he doesn't believe there's a future playing football after college and the NIL payday will be it for him.

He got lucky here with a coach like JM but, at his new school, he may find they treat him as if his being there is purely a business decision and there's more money available to buy more backs.

Jeanty at BS seems to have made a credible case for being a very high draft pick while playing at a school outside the P4.

Rosa is extremely talented and being slept on a bit. Dude had double digits TDs and in that NC State game last year showed elite speed. Unfortunately he's been banged up ever since that game with nagging injuries. The game waits for no one and it's literally next man up, and if that next man shines while you're out, your hit. Except for QB. Mora doesn't believe the QB loses his spot due to injury. Every other position is fair game though.

Would love to know if Malcolm Bell is leaving because he thinks there are greener pastures, or if he wonders about the coaching staff’s faith in him.

Either way, we now need a starting CB (assuming he leaves).

Bell was honored on Senior Day on November 1st so I would think the coaches have already planned for his departure. He did have one season of eligibility left, so I guess he wants to give it a go somewhere else.

I don't remember this kid. Can someone refresh my memory. Was he a highly recruited kid by other P4 schools? There are many comments on here on how folks are really bummed he's leaving. An offer from UK when he barely saw the field is rather impressive.

Yeah if your gonna play as a graduate transfer, its harder to blame you for leaving. I get that.

Wishing Durell Robinson nothing but the best. Great example of how a kid can come to UConn and excel, get noticed, and move up the ladder while catching a heavier bag. It's tough to get touches with a three or four man backfield. This opens the door for the others.
Victor now has a chance to return with a vengeance.

Here’s hoping Connecticut’s own Victor does just that.
