If anyone thought our best talent was going to stay, meet me downtown before the Xavier game I want what you’re smoking.
Cam Edwards says hello.

Bell did have too many drops. I believe more were in second half of season. Still wondering if wearing gloves would have decreased his drops. Moot point now. Time for other receivers to play.He was one of the best WRs in FBS for yards after catch, but he was ranked 74th out of 75 WRs with greater than 75 targets in drops at 13% which is too high.
I am on there and it is good. Also 10 bucks a month is legit nothingYou are absolutely right. I’ve said it several times and I’ll say it 1000 more times. We all are part of the solution by supporting UConn’s NIL collectives. Bleeding Blue for good has to levels of membership: $10/month for general content and $25/month for premium - called “Varsity”. I’m a Varsity subscriber. I encourage everyone to jump on board.
Hey Cam, you’re a rare breed.Cam Edwards says hello.
We all gotta do our part I just subscribed myself.I am on there and it is good. Also 10 bucks a month is legit nothing
How do you know if some one already paid, perhaps substanially into NIL?“If I wanted to pay I would” if that’s your take don’t complain when we lose players to the portal. Grassroots NIL matters.
They don’t say things like this. How do you know if some one already paid, perhaps substanially into NIL?
Awesome! Thank for joining us Bleeding Blue for Good supporters! We’re making difference!I am on there and it is good. Also 10 bucks a month is legit nothing
You’re spot on! You have the facts right. We’re moving in the right direction but need everyone to help out.Boise state's NIL is around 2.9 million, UConns is what, 1.2-1.5 million? If the fans are not helping grow the NIL, they should not be bitching and moaning. Storrs Central $120 for the year. You get 100 new scribers this week, maybe the added $12,000 helps bring someone in or keeps someone else on the fence. I agree that there needs to be some changes in how this all works as 4 schools in 4 years is just a crazy thing, but the money matters, so if you can spend an extra $120 for the effort, then do it!
Just curious what qualifies as no speculation here. I’m guessing you can’t speculate about a player, but once they say something anything goes?
Same hereWe all gotta do our part I just subscribed myself.
It's like a GoFundMe for a football roster.Everyone is entitled to their opinion just as you are entitled to yours. You do what you wish, I haven’t forgotten what it’s like to watch a 1-10 football team knowing how miserable it is to drive 2-3 hrs to and from the rent sitting in endless traffic. Winning makes it so much better. I can deal with the madness and drama of the portal.
Im sure you are a die hard fan that has been thru the darkest of times with this program. Just remember the dark times, where we are now and reaching the next level. Just ask yourself whats worth more 3 dollar coffee a day, or 10 dollars a month on NIL.
UConn last I heard was in the $2 million dollar rangeBoise state's NIL is around 2.9 million, UConns is what, 1.2-1.5 million? He also made some catches I’d bet few others could. They were spectacular.I was thinking the same thing. He dropped too many balls in crucial situations. We can find better
Yes the referenced figures were from last year’s cycle. This year’s target was $2.5 million and although I don’t know, I would expect we’ve met or exceeded that.UConn last I heard was in the $2 million dollar range
if this roster turnover happens every year and we're forced to re-set everything over and over, then I wonder if in the future, we will continue to have strange maryland-like games in the early season, where we're clearly not a team yet and just get destroyed by a P4 team.
maybe subconsciously this new phenomenon is what Jim Mora meant by "husky reload" lol
With some quotes (paywall ?) from Benedict:UConn last I heard was in the $2 million dollar range
True, but he did get separation. Separation has been a rare commodity in the UConn receiving corps. I think the receiving corps this last season had been frustrated with UConn's QB situation. The last few games it seemed to come out via body language and gestures. Not me. He had way too many drops. And on most higher level FBS schools that puts you on the bench.
He is replaceable
The portal isn't the only reason for lost players in bowls. Before the portal, key players sat out to avoid injury in prep for the NFL. The whole system is broken and it's a shame because I used to love bowl season.Ugh, the bowl system is in trouble if this is the transfer portal system for the foreseeable future. If the best players enter the portal and sit out bowl games, it will only hurt ticket sales and TV interest.

I agree about the strengths and improvement opportunities concerning Skyler Bell. Although he had too many drops, I am assuming that good coaching could have decreased that drop rate. Of course we'll never know at UConn. That assumption may be incorrect, but we expect guys like Ball, Ross and Stewart to improve year over year in MBB. Why don't we have the same approach for the football coaching staff? Not me. He had way too many drops. And on most higher level FBS schools that puts you on the bench.

I'm with you 100%. IMO, this year is even worse since some players are opting out of playoff games. I grew up at a time when New Year's bowl games were something special. The minor bowls were interesting as well because most players played. Unfortunately, those days are long gone. The portal isn't the only reason for lost players in bowls. Spot on mate! Growing up, I couldn't get enough of the bowls (and the Rose Bowl parade), watching game after game, stuffing my face with homemade Christmas treats and loving every minute of football. Now it's opting out of playoff games, opting out of bowl games, opting out after the first few games of the regular season...just opt out of the friggin' sport then if you don't want to play. The whole system is broken and it's a shame because I used to love bowl season.
