Auburn has a lot of RB talent and Robinson will have to battle to be in the rotation. They will have three 4* RBs (the #9, #11, and #28 RBs in their class), a 3* #47 RB, as well as Robinson.
I think Freeze gets him in. He's show can produce against P4 teams. Outside of maybe 3 teams in the SEC he can put up numbers for sure.

If Making it to the NFL is his top concern, I think Skyler Bell leaving could be a huge mistake on his part. He is the #1 guy here, he knows he can produce in our system. If he builds on what he did last year he would definitely either get drafted or have a top tier undrafted free agent offer guarantee. If he switches to a P4 school, he could easily just fade into the background.

But look who was throwing to him. He could be more productive stat wise as a #2 with a legit QB.

Maybe he sees Wellliver as next up and isn't willing to take a chance there OR Mora plans on more Evers next year in which case others will likely leave.

Hard to know what went into his decision.
1. NFL aspirations
2. NIL money
3. QB situation with Joe moving on.

Any idea what his statistics look like between Evers and Joe as QB?

There should be a limit on how many schools a kid can play for. You have kids playing for 4 different schools in 4 years. If I were a coach....I wouldn't want a player who transferred that many times.....also- do the Universities who take these kids have any baseline academic standards?

This is the one that I was afraid of. I was hopeful that he was staying but not surprised he is in the portal.

It takes the shine away from the Fenway Bowl if he chooses not to play in it.
Yep, he was the one I was really worried about (kept checking this thread all Friday expecting the worse). We've lost two major weapons on offense. Losing Joly was bad, losing our leading WR and leading TD RB before a bowl is horribly bad.
Bell is a gut punch. Hope he stays, or hope Mora can go find another...Skyler Bell.
He's gone, ain't no hope in wishing he stays. He declared his intent cuz he wants out of UConn and into money, can't get any simpler than that.

-> “The way this thing’s set up nowadays, if you’ve got a kid and he’s been really successful here, and a big-time program that can offer him a lot of money and maybe a different opportunity comes along, then they have to listen,” Mora said. “Everyone kind of gets in the portal for a different reason. Just because you get in the portal these days doesn’t mean you want to leave. It might be to test your market value, it might be to see what else is out there. And it might be to leave, it might be that you maybe feel like there’s a place that’s better for you.” <-

Penn State's backup QB put himself in the portal before a playoff game. However disappointed you are in Skyler and others, keep it in perspective.
This is silly.....how can you compare a backup QB, who if IIRC only came in and ran the ball on designed plays, to our main receiving weapon. No offense to any other receivers/TE but no one came close to his ability level and production. This one hurts more than Robinson because we don't have anyone else at his level to just step in and replace.

I'm not paying to get info, I'm paying to support UConn Athletics. The info is secondary. If you want UConn to be successful in football, then supporting things like Storrs Central is necessary. If you don't wish to, then that's fine but then complaining about people that do and try to pass along info to calm nerves down is silly imo
Agreed. I subscribed last year but am on the BY much more. SC content is good (and the inside tidbits are recently have been great) but I signed up primarily to support NIL.

I honestly cannot like Mora than I already do. Consumate professional and loves the kids he coaches.

So 25% of our current roster is portaling, guys that star not sit, future NFL players and we replace them with FCS or low FBS? I hate college football. College football has no strategy apparently besides killing 80% of the sport's teams. I'm sick over Robinson and Bell and guys wishing them success, please stop. Be a kind person in your heads, no need to blast it on social media. If we're happy seeing our talent use us to prove themselves and bail after no one else believed in them, we really should end football. We'll never build anything long term. It'll be a decent year, then two sucky years, a decent year..... Maybe the answer is we can't offer enough NIL to keep even a few star players. The top programs have money for 3rd stringers and we don't have enough for 5 or 6. Very sad day. I can see why coaches quit too. Imagine being a coach before a bowl game? Bell saved the best for last.

Spot on comment. We never get him out of High School. It’s a bummer for sure, but we don’t win 8 games without him. The beauty of the Portal is we have an opportunity to find another Skyler Bell.
Yeah, good luck with that. It must be fun being a headcoach and having to flip your team every season.

By subscribing to Storrs Central today, you can play a role in generating the revenue needed to retain players like Skylar, and also get the latest inside intel on his situation.
You are absolutely right. I’ve said it several times and I’ll say it 1000 more times. We all are part of the solution by supporting UConn’s NIL collectives. Bleeding Blue for good has to levels of membership: $10/month for general content and $25/month for premium - called “Varsity”. I’m a Varsity subscriber. I encourage everyone to jump on board.

You're sick over them entering the postal? Give me a break. We get them in transfer. Do people not use their brains and think things through before they post?...does the situation suck? Yes. But give me a break. You've got an NFL talent evaluator building a team with the benefit of free agency in college.
