Welcome to the new era of college football. If you don’t like, you should follow FCS football because this is the way it is.Yeah, good luck with that. It must be fun being a headcoach and having to flip your team every season.

I hate to say this, but I’m not many really understand NIL, the Collectives that support UConn, and what it all means. You're sick over them entering the postal? Give me a break. We get them in transfer. Do people not use their brains and think things through before they post?...does the situation suck? Yes. But give me a break. You've got an NFL talent evaluator building a team with the benefit of free agency in college.
I do understand we get some in the portal, but comparing this to free agency as we know it in pro sports is overly simplistic. There are schools that have 10-20x advantage. Imagine if in baseball the pirates had an $80 million payroll and the Yankees had $1.5 billion. That’s the college portal to free agency equivalencyYou're sick over them entering the postal? Right now, there are 7 scholarship players in the portal including one that was injured all year and one that was honored on senior day. That is about 8% of scholarship players which is manageable. This is impacting every school: Alabama, USC, Florida St. and Michigan each have 15+ players in the portal. So 25% of our current roster is portaling, guys that star not sit, future NFL players and we replace them with FCS or low FBS? I hate college football. College football has no strategy apparently besides killing 80% of the sport's teams. I'm sick over Robinson and Bell and guys wishing them success, please stop. Be a kind person in your heads, no need to blast it on social media. If we're happy seeing our talent use us to prove themselves and bail after no one else believed in them, we really should end football. We'll never build anything long term. It'll be a decent year, then two sucky years, a decent year..... Maybe the answer is we can't offer enough NIL to keep even a few star players. The top programs have money for 3rd stringers and we don't have enough for 5 or 6. Very sad day. I can see why coaches quit too. Imagine being a coach before a bowl game? Bell saved the best for last.
Possibly all those but I’m sure NFL is the priority. We can promise he’ll be the #1 wr option but we can’t promise him a good qb throwing it to him (at this point) and we can’t promise the exposure he’ll get at a p4 program. Those things matter for his NFL prospects.Hard to know what went into his decision.
1. NFL aspirations
2. NIL money
3. QB situation with Joe moving on.
Any idea what his statistics look like between Evers and Joe as QB?
Boise State is not a P4 school and look at their level of success. Not saying our goal should not be P4, but the right model and structure in place and financial support does work. There are plenty of P4 schools with lots more money that acheive nada.Possibly all those but I’m sure NFL is the priority. As far as NIL we can’t compete with most P4 schools.
It is what it is, and it sucks, but we have to find others, that’s all, and I know we will.
He transferred here FROM a P2 school. You think he's going back to a different one? We'll see.Possibly all those but I’m sure NFL is the priority. Boise state's NIL is around 2.9 million, UConns is what, 1.2-1.5 million? If the fans are not helping grow the NIL, they should not be bitching and moaning. Storrs Central $120 for the year. You get 100 new scribers this week, maybe the added $12,000 helps bring someone in or keeps someone else on the fence. I agree that there needs to be some changes in how this all works as 4 schools in 4 years is just a crazy thing, but the money matters, so if you can spend an extra $120 for the effort, then do it!Boise State is not a P4 school and look at their level of success. Not saying our goal should not be P4, but the right model and structure in place and financial support does work. There are plenty of P4 schools with lots more money that acheive nada.
According to the hoops board, losing our upward bound players early is a good thing because it encourages future recruits who will see us as a viable upward bound program. Which is fine so long as we keep a weak schedule that might keep producing invites to bowls nobody ever heard of.I get it. And right now it's whatever. But idk how many more years CFB will keep my interest after watching our best players transfer out every season.
Be a shame if he went to Auburn only to ride the pine and get limited action instead of being 1 of 2 featured RBs here, but he'll get his money and that's what he really wanted.
This is the one that I was afraid of. I was hopeful that he was staying but not surprised he is in the portal.
It takes the shine away from the Fenway Bowl if he chooses not to play in it.
Not a mistake to listen to offers, but it might be a mistake to go.yeah this sounds like a mistake
A guy transferring to UConn and landing at Auburn is not bad press... Players (and agents) are watching. This is the game. You're sick over them entering the postal? Give me a break. He was one of the best WRs in FBS for yards after catch, but he was ranked 74th out of 75 WRs with greater than 75 targets in drops at 13% which is too high. Not me. He had way too many drops. And on most higher level FBS schools that puts you on the bench.
He is replaceable
I got banned for saying this during the season (not blaming the mods, just stating a fact), but if Bell is trying to prove he’s an NFL level talent, he wants the ball thrown, and throw to him, far more consistently than what happened this year. There were games when Evers played where he wasn’t even looked at more than 5 times a game. If you don’t run the ball you’re not going to attract and keep the best TBs, and if you don’t throw the ball you’re not going to attract and keep the best WRs.
But having said that, will the current system decrease the popularity of college football nationwide over the next two decades? Yes, of course it will.
I was thinking the same thing. He dropped too many balls in crucial situations. We can find betterNot me. He had way too many drops. And on most higher level FBS schools that puts you on the bench.

I’m sorry… where do you think a lot of our players THIS year came from?So 25% of our current roster is portaling, guys that star not sit, future NFL players and we replace them with FCS or low FBS? I mean, Boise State is very much a football school. They’re P4 in all but conference affiliation. I’m sure they have the NIL to match.Boise State is not a P4 school and look at their level of success. Not saying our goal should not be P4, but the right model and structure in place and financial support does work. There are plenty of P4 schools with lots more money that acheive nada.
