That doesn’t look like obstruction to me. He slid into the bag and even ducked down. It’s not like he came in high.

Bottom 6th, UConn offense leaves runners on the corners after Lynch walked a couple of batters. 5-2 UConn.

Coe still on the mound to start the 7th. I'm fine with that, don't mind staying with the hot hand, so to speak

Questionable by Xavier to have this reliever in this game at this point. He is on 1 day's rest after throwing ~40 pitches vs Creighton.

Problem for Xavier is that Lynch really one of their few reliable arms on the pitching staff. If they had someone else they could trust to do the job, he would be out of the game.

Top 8th, Coe gets the first out, Devin Kirby coming in to pitch. Looks like UConn is saving the big guys out of the bullpen for as long as possible, a just in case sort of thing.

If they had a couple more Lynches, they're a 2 seed somewhere. That's a SEC calibur offense that has lit everyone up all year (even vs a strong OOC).

Xavier also plays in a bandbox of a ballpark, but no question that they can sure can hit the ball and hit it hard. They are certainly a team to watch in the future in the Big East.

Bottom 8th, Lynch finally comes out of the game for Xavier.

Coe and Kirby have been lights out. Who does Kirby remind you of? Look, body and number. An old Mets pitcher from the 80"s?

Bottom 8th, UConn goes down in order, 7-2 UConn.

Top 9th, Kirby on the mound.

I’m sure Freescooter would disagree.

By the way, Chris Jones just loves the Xavier program. They are investing in their baseball program, improving their facilities and such. Really, just the opposite of Butler. Butler is really the only Big East program that Chris Jones is really down on, figures the rest of the programs have a chance for improvement.
