Questionable by Xavier to have this reliever in this game at this point. He is on 1 day's rest after throwing ~40 pitches vs Creighton.
Bottom 7th, Huber with a leadoff double, Donlan gets hit by a pitch, so UConn gets 2 runners on with no outs. Morton with a sac bunt moves both runners up a base. Simmons with a 1 out rbi single, 6-2 UConn.
Bottom 7th, a run scores on a Padilla single to shallow center field that falls in, 7-2 UConn.
Got some amenities in that inning!!!
Problem for Xavier is that Lynch really one of their few reliable arms on the pitching staff. If they had someone else they could trust to do the job, he would be out of the game.
Top 8th, Coe gets the first out, Devin Kirby coming in to pitch. Looks like UConn is saving the big guys out of the bullpen for as long as possible, a just in case sort of thing.
If they had a couple more Lynches, they're a 2 seed somewhere. That's a SEC calibur offense that has lit everyone up all year (even vs a strong OOC).
I’m sure Freescooter would disagree. If they had a couple more Lynches, they're a 2 seed somewhere. That's a SEC calibur offense that has lit everyone up all year (even vs a strong OOC).
