Bases loaded with 2 outs, Simeone coming in to pitch in the bottom of the 7th. Guessing now that Crawford might start a potential second game, but we will see.

Nightmare inning ...of course after a terrible call
IMO (and Jonesy's, too), the call was pretty reasonable.

Haus is usually pretty solid, but every once in a while, he has an outing where he can't locate his curve and gets demolished. This was one of them.

Left Haus in too long....looks like we might be playing two.

Seems obvious they made the decision to save the rest of the big guns in the bullpen for the second game once it got to 3-0. Usually Penders would be fairly quick to take Haus out in a situation like this.

At least this means I don’t have to worry about Joe Sim starting game 2...let him
Finish this game

5-0 going to the bottom of the 7th. Unless UConn makes a big comeback to take the lead, you are not going to see Wurster, Willis, Polonia, and Marrero in this one. It will be left up to Simeone and who knows who else to finish this one up.

If there is another game will Fox carry it?

5-1 Xavier going to the top of the 8th. It will be interesting to see who pitches these last 2 innings for UConn. Simeone stays on the mound to start the 8th.

I have to say I'm tempted to go play with the dog who has been penned up inside all day in this weather, but we'll wait it out for now. Still, it's looking like a long night of baseball.

Long game for a relatively quiet game besides last inning.

Both teams were stranding quite a few runners in this game until Xavier finally broke through in the 7th. It wasn't as if both sides were going down quickly in those early innings.

Yea that’s true. Feels like forever ago.

Bottom 8th, UConn gets 2 runners, Korey Morton pinch runs for Langer who walked with 2 outs. But that is it for the Huskies that inning.
