"If you're watching the NBA playoffs, and if Jordan's not moving up in mock drafts and you're watching the importance of 3-point shooting ... a team that passes on him in the top 10, top 12 picks, for a guy that shoots the ball in a way that you hardly ever see in college," Hurley said.

What UConn men's basketball coach Dan Hurley said about NBA Draft prospects of ex-Huskies

Hurley must have read my May 30th thread.

Nuggets traded draft picks with OKC last night to improve 2023 draft position.. May package their draft capital to move up.. Have heard that they like AJ even though they didn't work him out. Now have picks 37/40..

Where did you hear that?

A grain of salt.. No smoke...Wouldn't take it too seriously. Heard from my son (UConn BB fan) who lives in Denver and listens to sports talk radio 24/7 that recently the topic of 2023 NBA draft was being discussed and who might be on the list for Nuggets if they kept their draft position (now 37/40) .. One of the commentators has access to front office sources with Nuggets and among the players of interest who might be available(their opinion) at their draft position could be AJ.. One of five guys mentioned. We all know draft positions will continue to change .. Misinformation thrown around by teams/GMs.. Trade up/trade down.. Draft Day trades..

IMO.. The teams that AJ worked out for with draft positions ahead of Nuggets will have picked him before they would even get a chance at him--Even if they wanted him.. Was good to hear a UConn player associated with the next NBA Champs. I see him chosen between picks 27-35..

Nuggets would be a perfect spot for Jackson.

I think Andre would thrive in Denver. They're a very high IQ team that has a lot of off ball cutting, isn't (relatively) too dependent on isolation scoring or chucking threes, and they always seem to have a few guards or wing guys that love the fast break 3. They play to a lot of his strengths

Also would be fun to see him share a practice court with Colin Gillespie lol

Would actually really love if Andre went to San Antonio.

Pop loves a guy like him who does all the little things and is smart. Great place to develop. A lot of young guys on the team so playing time could be available. And they get Vic so a team that will be on the up and up.

They pick in the early 2nd as well. Tankathon has them taking someone with pretty much his exact profile.

They also have Hawkins going to OKC and Sanogo going to Memphis which would actually be amazing fits for the both of them. Sanogo would remind the fan base a lot of ZBo.

Wemby would love Andre getting him the ball literally anywhere on the court :)

Don't disagree.. Some of their role players like Brown will be looking for big pay days.. Rookie contracts are a lot more viable when you have to be paying Joker/Murray/Porter big dollars.. Style of play would work for him as well as the altitude.. His uber athleticism at altitude would bury visiting teams.. Altitude is real.. Lived there for 12 years..

Holy yes! I hadn’t even considered them and see Jackson being most valuable to a contender, because the drive he brings and his skills moving the ball and defense will help a great team stay great. But the thought of him learning under pop and also with the next generational player there is nice!

Sources: Wemby headlines 19 green room invitees

Nineteen players have received invitations to attend the 2023 NBA draft and sit in the green room, sources told ESPN.

Victor Wembanyama, Brandon Miller, Scoot Henderson, Amen Thompson, Ausar Thompson, Cameron Whitmore, Jarace Walker, Anthony Black, Taylor Hendricks and Gradey Dick received the first batch of 10 invites this past weekend, followed by Bilal Coulibaly, Cason Wallace, Nick Smith, Dereck Lively, Kobe Bufkin, Jalen Hood-Schifino, Jett Howard, Jordan Hawkins and Keyonte George on Tuesday.

I thought based on the way he's been talking recently he would have Hawkins in the 20s, so 18 is fine. He stuck by Jackson as a first round grade.
Agreed, he’s barely mentioned him recently. It doesn’t surprise me that toolsy athletes like Leonard Miller and Coulibaly are late risers on his board, though

IMO.. Hawkins and AJ are on pretty solid ground re: draft.. Have seen mocks with Hawk goin' to Lakers/Heat/Warriors..17/18/19--and lower.... Stumbled on a mock that had the lowest number I've seen on Andre going 24 to Sac Kings.. And others higher.. The guy I'm pulling for is Adama.. Hope he hears his name..All he needs is a chance.

Draft Night should be a proud night for UConn players/coaches/fans/alumni/families of the Big Three

Loved listening to Jordan. Not many UConn players in my lifetime have made such a significant jump in performance and mental makeup in one year. I am rooting hard for him, Adama and Andre. All three are so deserving of draft night recognition and future success in the pro ranks.

Finals rankings on Vecenie’s big board:

Hawkins #18
Jackson #29
Sanogo #48
Wow, Vecenie's write ups in that monster PDF (linked from the article) are really good and comprehensive. An excellent read and worth the price of an Athletic subscription.

That's why more kids should be more proactive in securing invites to NBA players camps as Hawk and his Dad did through networking to secure a place in one of CP3's high echelon camps last summer. He came out of that a more polished and confident shooter. Working with Rip early in the fall paid dividends also.
