Or Mora puts NIL commitments before logic.

Been doing it all season long… Let’s hope he comes to his senses.

Someone actually said this week that this should be a practice game for Evers. Well he turned it into that and we almost lost.

In two possessions Fagnano had almost as many yards as Evers with only 4 completions.

I would love to know Evers completion rate when he throws off one foot vs two.

I think it'll be a considerable difference.

One thing I’ve noticed is that instead of staying in the pocket and going through his reads, he rolls out prematurely and ends up hucking up passes.

It’s like someone has to tell him, your receivers aren’t going to miraculously open up because you decided to roll out early - the roll out is only when you’re under pressure. I think root cause is he’s having trouble seeing the field, going through his reads. This will get better as he gets more reps…. But I’d like to see that happen next year and leave Joe in there.

Fagnano made some great throws to get us back in the game.

Even after we were up, Fagnano made the throws that were needed to extend drives.
Sammis makes it tougher by consistently running up the middle on second and long.

I think we have 2 QBs that can and should play right now. I know it's not ideal, but we're still evolving...and that position isn't as stable as we'd like it to be right now.

If Fagnano is on a hot streak, I hope Mora has the instincts to ride it. UConn's offense is fun to watch when he's in a groove, and frankly, I doubt our OL will be able to push Syracuse around and establish a consistent run game if Evers is out there with a gimpy leg playing it close to the vest. We need them to be dropping LBs into coverage and expecting pass if we're going to have success mixing in runs.

This was a great win.

They got punched in the face, but stayed with it.

The defense, struggled in the first half, then tightened up in the second.

The fumble recoveries, sacks and INT were HUGE.

I was very happy to see the so enthusiastic on the sidelines, down, but still believing. Great team spirit. You could tell that the team was feeding off of it.

Evers, isn't a bad QB, he's accurate and athletic, but if he gets benched, it's not cause he lost his job, it's because Fagnano took it.

The offense just moves better because he's a great passer and tough, stands in the pocket and knows where he wants to go with the ball.

Cam and Bell are studs.

I hope these guys take this momentum into the Syracuse game.

This probably was the game I was looking for. A game that shows that program finally turned the corner.

I was disgusted after the first half down by 17 points. Honestly, I didn't see this coming.

This game really showed the maturity and sense of urgency that good teams have.

Syracuse will be tough. I just don't want to see a repeat of the Maryland game.

Kudos to the team and coaches for keeping it together and not letting the wheels fall off as I was expecting.

Agreed but let's call it what it is- JF needs to start the rest of season. If there are garbage-time "development" opportunities because HCJM believes the Evers experiment will continue into next season, then so be it. Other than that Fagnano is the man.
If they aren't trying to get Welliver up to speed by next year it will be a huge mistake.

JF went 5/12, 2 tds, 0 picks. And it was glorious because he made UAB play defense. NE 104 yds on 15 completions; JF 70 yds on 5 completions.
Am I the only one having Déjà vu with this post? I swear I've seen an almost identical post from another Joey game.

No. They don’t. Good for us, and it’s great getting exciting wins, but none of the 7 teams we’ve beaten is even halfway decent.
I agree with you but the Buffalo Bulls are not a terrible G5 team. They have 5 wins including a win over NIU. Its too bad that the AAC teams that we played were all having terrible years. Our schedule was even weaker than it looked on paper before the season started. Even Maryland who blew us out turn out to be a weaker team than many of us thought. We just played an awful game against them.

100%. Is it possible that, with time and reps over the offseason, Evers begins to see the field better? Sure. But right now he’s not, and that isn’t magically going to change in the last 2 games and the bowl. Meanwhile, Joe has consistently performed all year. He has an 11/3 TD/INT ratio and 1,000 pass yards (on 57 completions) in the limited game action he’s had. Compare that to Evers and his 5/4 TD/INT ratio and his 814 yards on 82 completions. There’s no question who gives us the better chance to win

Evers biggest problem is he is just not an accurate passer. Go back today and watch each guys 1st completion. Joe hits a guy in perfect stride to continue picking up yards. Evers hits the guy way behind screwing with the timing and design of the play.

I hate how Mora has handled this. Should have played both guys at least.

We haven't beat anyone good yet. No way we will be anywhere near the top 25. At least we nowhere near the bottom 25 this year. That is improvement I will take.
Just give the we haven’t beaten anyone a rest. We played 10 games. We won 7. We played the teams they put in front of us. FWIW Army played their first team with a winning record today. They are ranked in the top 25. It is about winning.

It was noticeable that the receivers showed poor body language and made some gestures after Evers missed them. Also they weren’t on the same page on a couple of throws where they should have sat down in the zone. Saw none of that with Fagnano.
