Randy Edsall 2.0 really set this football program back. I remember feeling deflated like a balloon with the needle popping it when I saw he was the big splash hire in 2016. I am not Nostradamus, if I was I would be a lot richer, but I knew that retread hire was going to fail.

I don't know if the boosters who decided to help pay for Ollie's buyout demanded Edsall be rehired, as that has been told here on the BoneYard, if that is true I thank the boosters for their generosity, but hiring Edsall was an awful price to pay for that generosity.
I think Edsall still brought in some good players. I mean Moran had the pretty much the same roster for from 2-10 I think it was to 6-6. The okay makers were there, Edsall just couldn't capture his lightning in a bottle again. I'm glad we got Mora.

Evers biggest problem is he is just not an accurate passer. Go back today and watch each guys 1st completion. Joe hits a guy in perfect stride to continue picking up yards. Evers hits the guy way behind screwing with the timing and design of the play.

I hate how Mora has handled this. Should have played both guys at least.
The most frustrating thing about Evers is all his problems are fixable, but he doesn't seem to be progressing.

I don’t buy the argument that we haven’t beaten anyone good. Those teams would have crushed us a few years ago. Maybe even last year. We beat a team that beat Vandy who beat Alabama. We beat a team that beat a team that beat ND. And Rice had a good win last week. All real teams, all way better than we’ve been recently
What does us being way better than we’ve been — which I fully agree with — have to do with us being close to the Top 25, which is the statement I responded to.

I’ll just say this once, these guys are out on social, they see what is being posted. Keep that in mind before you hit send. It’s easy for us to not pick and opine about bad play, sometimes deserved sometimes not but these guys are out there everyday putting in the work. The results may not be what was hoped for but we need to keep that in mind.

I was just responding to your “none of the teams we beat are halfway decent” comment. Agree we are not top 25. Only pointing out the many of the teams we beat are halfway decent.

What a great comeback by all the fellas out there! A well deserved win, and a win that we quite frankly wouldn't have gotten in recent years, as others have correctly mentioned. The defense bent, but then stormed back like they were the '86 Bears and turned this game around (turnovers almost always tell the story of a football game).

Fagnano was fantastic and has certainly earned the right to start against Syracuse. I'd be shocked if Mora doesn't start him. Along those lines, ZOOCONN has rightfully pointed out that we should be decent to all the players on the squad as it pertains to social media. They are putting in the hard work. It's very likely that we'll need Nick Evers before his UConn career is over, and possibly before the season is over.

Pride. Heart. UCONN!!!

Social media is one thing, a fan forum is something else. Players and their families should avoid places like this.

This is where fans come to talk ish and have done so now for decades. We will be here following this program long after they're gone.

Alright I’m on the Fagnano bandwagon. Great win tonight after coming out flatter than flat.
Huh? They drove down the field like a machine the first time they touched the ball. Until Nick took a bad sack and tripped over a hash mark

While I don’t disagree I think it’s prudent to try and keep things in perspective.

None are in the top 100 of most computer ratings. Beyond 100 out of about 130 is not halfway decent. Sorry.

I know I'm about to create a circular argument, but: most of them would be in the top 100 if we didn't beat them. Victim of our own success??

I'm glad we aren't making other teams good anymore...

I missed the 2nd half, Dad turned 90! So I wasn't able to watch until I got home from the BB game. UAB had no answers once Joe came in the game. The announcers mentioned that Mora never benched a QB mid-season in his HC career. UConn has 3 more games to win, let's hope Jim realizes there's always a first time.

Let's keep this same energy for JF next week when we're down 35-3 in the 3rd, and he's got 2 picks but still playing his heart out trying to grind out a win that is unlikely to happen.

Don't on the players and if you have to criticize do it with some care.

That being said. The players have to be smarter than dm-ing morons on socials
