In UCONN's case, she's probably thinking about the bevy of guards the huskies would've just brought in the year prior. Just a thought.
Even still.. I was pretty surprised to see UCONN, Notre Dame, Maryland and Oregon State eliminated in one swoop. Most would've assumed one of those schools was the favorite just because of who they are.
If UConn needs help it will be in the front court and she is a 6'2" jumping jack...she lacks a bit of discipline on the court and I guess that's the way she likes it!!
Sort of like Wilson wanted to be a wing?I don't think DeCosta wants to play in the front court. Plenty of coaches on that list capable of coaching DeCosta.

You know us UConn Fans....there's only ONE coach who can get the most out of her!!!!!!! If you saw her in International competition.....her best moments were around the rim.....if she insists on playing in a particular spot on the floor then UConn isn't the place for her
I don't think she'll have a choice. She's not a guard. And I doubt that any coach would waste that rebounding ability by putting her outside. She's relentless on the offensive boards.I don't think DeCosta wants to play in the front court. Plenty of coaches on that list capable of coaching DeCosta.
I watched every game she played for USA this summer, this is very true, she's great attacking the basket but she's also small to be a real frontcourt player in college. DeCosta is a wing, she just needs to polish her outside game. Her style of play and the way she moves reminds me very much of DeShields or Kaela Davis, both are athletic and similar in stature.. she's not as offensively sharp as the two I named but her game will improve.
I don't think she's a consistent outside shooter so playing guard may be an issue, I kind of view her as a Gabby Williams type.....a bit undersized but an athletic, quick jumper who can maneuver inside of 15 feet..as far as I'm concerned, UConn has had enough transfers, I only want players that totally buy into the Huskies long established team concept...I wish her well and look forward to watching her play wherever she ends up

Hmmm. Interesting.
Did Jade Williams also visit S. Carolina? Or could LaDazhia's visit/subsequent commitment have been misinterpreted as Jade earlier in the week?
In any case, congrats on getting this commitment. Among "bigs," ND is now looking at Patterson or Jade Williams (if she/ND are still mutually interested). As for the wings left, well, there's a whole popular thread on that![]()
What is DEFENSIVE about stating a widely known fact? Point 2 this is a UConn WBB site--as you know! Not sure what Wilson has to do with this. Not even the same situation.
No need to be defensive just because ONE recruit decided UCONN wasn't for them. This isn't the first time and won't be the last.

Duke lands Madison Treece, 6-4 C, Rock Bridge HS (MO), ranked #83 in 2017 per espnW; former Kentucky commit.
OK, from the Blue Grass State to the Blue Devils....

She ( Madison Treece) also committed to Duke on a weekend she was supposed to be visiting @ Michigan.Interesting decision. She goes from one school that had a rocky offseason to another that had an almost equally rocky offseason.
You are correct. McKenna played her junior and senior years with Collier and helped Incarnate Word win State Championships those years. Incarnate Word won the State Championship the following year also with Napheesa. McKenna was a better high school junior than Madison was. Maybe Madison will have a good senior year. She ( Madison Treece) also committed to Duke on a weekend she was supposed to be visiting @ Michigan.
Her older sister McKenna is playing at Oklahoma and I believe both sisters were teammates of Napheesa Collier for at least 1 year at Incarnate Word Academy.
