Again, let the dust settle. I agree that right now it's unclear but some school other than UConn will appear. I am not sure anyone is out. There a few pieces still to fall. Once that happens, schools you list as no will suddenly, desperately say yes. Besides, it's not like the kid can't play. A spot will open up for him. He doesn't want UConn, that much is clear. It's ludicrous to believe he will end up here by default.

Because you have recently posted several times in several way that he is not coming to UConn, it's reasonable for you to be asked a different question: would you like him to? Whether Yes or No, what would be your reason(s)?

Thanks in advance. And thanks for your clarity on the other matter.

18 hours ago - Board is convinced Waters is coming.

Now - Board is convinced he's not.

Nothing has really changed.

There's no cause for optimism or pessimism here. We knows nuthin' - this one is just a waiting game.

I have learned not to challenge you fishy and you are correct but you are seriously (that things probably not changed) simplifying the last two days. All Star weekend Games happen there is a flood of credible and not so credible information that seeps out

If he doesn't want UConn, then why does he continue listing UConn? He can simply take them off his list if there's zero chance of him wanting to go here.
Logically, he has UConn on his list because Tremont's decided that UConn is a possibility. HE put UConn on HIS list. Not the boneyard.
I suggest you take it up directly Tremont and tell him that what he's doing is ludicrous.
Kids list schools they have no intention of going to all the time. Welcome to recruiting 101.

He's not shooting the messengers but the manic nature of the Boneyard.

I'm happy people are relating what they hear. I'll take all the grains of salt you guys give but wait for events to unfold.

No question we are Waters safety School

The question is: why? Why are we not obviously a better destination for a home-state kid than middle-of-the-road programs like Creighton, Georgetown, even Syracuse?

I guess there are two possible scenarios:

A) He's got his eyes set on the big-name schools and doesn't want to commit anywhere until those options have been ruled out (which is fine), and he'd be perfectly content with UConn even though he hadn't given them much thought until lately because we had MAL
B) He wants to avoid UConn however possible, but is keeping us on his list because he knows we'll take him if he has absolutely no other choice

Don't get me wrong, I'd want him to come here in either scenario on the basis of his talent alone. But if it's scenario B, that really puts a damper on the kind of contribution we can expect from him in the locker room and on how long we can expect him to stay here, unless things break absolutely perfectly for him individually once he's here.

I'm not sure your A or B addresses the question you posit but it does address a delay in getting a commitment.

Not sure if you're being serious or not, but I did reach out to someone on the periphery 2 days ago and said he was hearing we are in his top 2. Did not say what the other school was.
Confirme- oh wait top two

My head is spinning with your questions. He was committed to Georgetown. So who said UConn isn't a better destination than Georgetown? If he wanted Georgetown more than UConn, he would have stayed committed to Georgetown.

Kids list schools they have no intention of going to all the time. Welcome to recruiting 101.

I get when kids list a blue blood school even though the school has zero interest in recruiting them. They do it for ego, popularity, etc.

That's not the case here. Tremon IS being recruited by UConn. So why does he have UConn on his list if he has zero intention of going there?

Just asking, what is it that he gains by listing UConn. You're the professor of recruiting 101 and I'm here to learn.

Haven't heard from anyone credible say one thing or another on where Waters is leaning.

@3uconn @chevtheman @Zionn you guys hearing anything?
The problem is(as husky99 has stated) that there are two very different reports coming out right now. One is UConn is the favorite. The other is as 99 said "no way in hell". We dont know which report to believe. Its best we just wait and see. Things will become clearer as the wknd progresses

Because the idea he has no interest in UConn is false. What that level of interest is? Who knows. But he is def interested

We'll see, but if he wants a big-time school with a national spotlight, it will be hard for him to find a better option than UConn. And the chance to coached by a 13-year NBA point guard is pretty special.
