So I asked around, got pretty much the same stuff as @husky99 , lots of moving parts. Although I do think he does like us more than just a default back up plan. Obviously not as much as he could otherwise he would have committed here the first time around.

The amount of butthurt that some of you exhibit is mind-boggling. The kid needs to make whatever decision is best for him. If it takes a while for him to make that decision, so be it. I am sure there is no malice toward UConn, just a kid trying to make the right decision.
 
Not sure I understand all these "moving parts".

The kid wants to go to Duke, Kentucky or Kansas. They haven't said that they have a spot for him.

Clearly UConn is his backup and he'd much prefer to go elsewhere.

Just let it play out until the kid commits. I can't fathom how the story changes so much from day to day and even hour to hour. I think it's just all speculation that is a big circle that amounts to nothing.

This from someone more than likely happy either way, you can have your fun hammering on the KO and the staff if they swing and miss or enjoy him choosing UConn laughing at those who worried. Funny stuff. No butthurt here, just stating facts.
 
Let me translate: lot's of moving parts = Duval needs to decide and Tremont is waiting for a big offer. There are two parts involved. Let's play them out shall we?

Duval commits to Duke, they never offer Tremont (or tell him not to come). Then Tremont decides between UConn, Creighton, WKU (not likely), or another school.

Duval commits elsewhere, K offers Tremont, and Tremont commits.

I don't see Kentucky or Kansas offering or wanting him.

Thats what ive been saying this whole time. We need to be realistic. If he believes he has even an ounce of a chance to go to duke, uk, ot ku he'd be a fool to commit anywhere before then. It doesnt mean he thinks we're chopped liver. He just knows the same as every other recruit. That in today's college basketball tou dont turn down opportunities to play at those 3 schools, because its been proven, no matter how unfair it may be that going to those 3 schools raises your probability of being drafted exponentially. Let's not take this too personally. He prefers Duke and KU over UConn right now, wouldnt you?
 
Kentucky only has one pure PG right now, I'm kinda surprised they haven't taken Waters yet. They've proved they'll take a short PG with talent, so I wonder what that's about.

Someone said somewhere that the waters camp demanded a certain amount of shots and cal hasnt been interested since. Could be completely made up, but who knows

That was me, and my friend who is a coach Notre Dame high school told me that. So take it for what is worth. He said Cal has moved on.

I think very few people on here are happy to see the staff swing and miss on anyone. If they were though, they'd be in a state of perpetual bliss lately.

Other recruits, recruit's camps making demands, interest given and then taken away based on interactions, etc. Domino affect.

No, there's a crew who actually takes some sort of pleasure in it, whether they admit it or not. Even in good years, they show up at the first sign of scuffling. Usually the same names.
