I can't speak for the other three you've quoted, but I fail to see where I've suggested turning Waters away. I said I'd welcome him if he wants to come, and that I'd wish him no ill will if he didn't. I also added best wishes to all, fwiw. At least that's what I think I did.

I really have no idea, but he looks like someone who could surprise us if he can play fairly solid ball that emphasizes rebounding, defense, and picking up the scraps underneath (plus whatever else he can provide offensively).

I believe he was a Killings recruit. Temple had a decent front court while he was there so I'm hopeful. I think Carlton can be better his freshman year than Brimah was his senior year.

Smitty was Bridgeport while Scotty was Hamden, close enough on this one while the other 2 were New Haven. Were you trying to piece a New Haven pipeline together?

If it's truly between WKU and UConn then Storrs is a no-brainer for a 3 year type player. If he has 1 and done aspirations then who knows otherwise 3 years at WKU sounds like a nightmare.

If the reports of him caring about his education are true, then he doesn't see himself as a 1 and done--which is why WKU makes zero sense to me.

Confident that we can get some production out of Carlton/Diarra/Cobb, but Waters is going to need that red flag for the matador defense our guards are going to be playing without Brimah in there to protect the rim.

This is mostly OT to this thread, but the basketball program needs to start putting more focus on recruiting the best in state kids. If there is a Murray Williams out there to be had go get him. It sure as hell beats having unused scholarships on the roster. Recruiting locally would probably improve our batting average.

I think they have. There aren't a ton of stud recruits from CT. The premise would be better if you said we need to focus on recruiting the best kids from CT, MA, RI which I think we have been trying to do, at least sometimes. Who are the highest rated CT kids of recent memory? Waters, Heron, Enoch, Drummond. Not too many, I am sure I am missing a name or two.

Wasn't Murray a top recruit FWIW? Before my time, but I am not sure that is the example for avoiding unused scholarships.

I feel like my biggest pet-peeve in the history of life is how sports are portrayed on tv shows/movies. I can virtually guarantee that prior to this moment the opposing team forgot how to dribble for 2 straight minutes and Will Smith for that time became the world's most dominant basketball player. It annoys me so much. I know in a show like this it is done on purpose, but my wife and I just got sucked into watching 13 Reasons Why and the "star" basketball player had a jump shot that looked like my grandmother's long after osteoporosis set in. But yet, I'm supposed to believe he is this jock of jocks... I should also add that i'm three deep into a double IPA and feeling salty. Carry on.
