Tre Mitchell in the transfer portal

I guess coach and mom broke up....
Or the bright lights of Amherst and the A-10 were too much for him. But, based on his stats and dependent upon the reasons for the transfer, we might have a spot for him.

Certainly would like to have him on the roster. He put big #s up vs Dayton, Richmond, and the other good teams he played last season. Not sure he'll want to transfer and compete with Sanogo for minutes though. Regardless, I'm sure the staff will be making some calls.

You know you’re a dork when you get excited about his ft% and block and steal numbers.

I’m in. Sign me up.

Who runs a matchmaking service in storrs to help out mom? Lol

He's a total no brainer for UConn. Looked like he was going to UConn out of high school, is playing down the road and I would imagine is looking to play right away at the highest level of basketball and to play in the tournament. We're only positive that Sanogo will get us easy buckets out of the frontcourt next season, Josh replacement with much more game than Josh. As long as he's no longer a package deal with that assistant this makes so much sense for UConn and him.

I watched him a little this year, he needs to get in the weight room but otherwise has great skills.

I think he could play next to Sanogo too. With him Sanogo, Akok, Martin, Samson Johnson, and springs we’d have the best front court in the big east next season and one of the best in the country. If our backcourt gives us anything we’re cooking

When was the last time to players with identical names transferred in the same offseason?

Low-key happy that my "joke" thread materialized to actual news. After reflection, my bad for that thread!

Watched some of his highlight clips from this year. He's skilled. Pretty good footwork. Can use both hands in close. Nice stroke on his J. The main question is whether he's strong/athletic enough to produce against higher level competition than what the A-10 has to offer? Will he step it up when faced with more resistance? And, I've seen nothing of his defense, so...

Really? He's listed at 240. Or do you mean he needs to trim some fat?

I've only looked at the numbers, but he seems like exactly what we need in a backup big, or maybe a 4 alongside Sanogo in a big lineup (Whaley replacement).

He isn't capable of playing the 4 except against very specific types of teams... Georgetown comes to mind. He is pretty much a traditional back-to-the-basket big with a little bit of catch and shoot ability. He doesn't have the lateral quickness to cover 4s at all. He's probably slower than Sanogo.

Sanogo is a traditional back to the basket big but whenever I've watched Mitchell he's versatile on offense, makes a lot of jumpers.

Good post player with skilled passing!

yeah, no definition, and if he's 240 i would be shocked. Looks like a high school player still.
