Add Kianna Smith from Cal. She is a good player.

Definitely a blow to Cal. She started all 33 games this year (as a soph) and averaged about 10 ppg.

That leaves Jaelyn Brown as the only returning starter for Cal. Anigwe, Thomas and Caldwell all graduate.

What about Malu Tshitenge-Mutombo ? She's a commit for 2019 to UNC. She's Dikembe Mutombo's Niece. BUT... She's Azzi Fudd's teammate at SJC HS in DC... I realize she's only 56 per HG and 51 per PN, but she is a 6'3" post player... slender, athletic, runs the floor well, very good shot blocker with a developing back to the basket game...

Should she decide to jump from the sinking ship, do we take a hard look? Just a thought...

A couple more names here (Sniezek, Gondrezick) that I hadn't heard dropped yet.

Sniezek doesn't surprise me at all. She has a grad transfer year for immediate eligibility and unless someone leaves Stanford in the off-season there's no fifth-year scholarship spot for her.

She's from the DC area and I think UVa is desperate for a PG - I could see that as a plausible landing spot. Her offensive production is not amazing because she is pretty hesitant to shoot the ball, but she's otherwise a really good PG with an exceptional basketball IQ. I suspect she will end up coaching before long.

I've seen Malu. She's a great kid and a pretty good player.

Marta was the DC area POY in the pre-Fudd era. I expected her to do more at Stanford than she has, but she's still a pretty good player.

ND was her other finalist and I would imagine ND would still welcome her...

Virginia isnt a bad school to have a graduate degree from either...

They might sink near the bottom of the conference. Pac 12 is a bad place to be when you are rebuilding mode.

Honest question: What's the quagmire of honorifics that professors have to wade through? I've spent much of my adult life on campuses, and the only honorifics I can think of are professor, doctor, dean, mr. and ms.

I've spent very little time at med schools; I know that there's a real pecking order there related to the letters after your name.
It seems these days under 30's have a slew of gender neutral titles they prefer, and the number seems generative. They include non binaries starting with Ind. for individual, M., Misc. (relating that some have aspects of varying genders at various times), Mx, Ser, Ze. and a phalanx of others. Many professors are resorting to asking individual students which one they prefer. Often the student will tell the professor. This issue seems to be most prevalent all the east and west coasts and in major cities.

Geno ought to treat it as a job search. Submit your application and resume. We'll get back to you. ;)

definitely need a graduate transfer or two for next season due to the short bench....................some size up front is a necessity, perhaps one of the European guards can take up the slack in the shooting department.................

- Rumor is 590+ in the portal...#Sheesh

With 590+ in the portal, Geno shouldn't have a problem finding suitable players to round out his roster for next year. :D
I am wondering if that number only includes undergrads. Graduate transfers have no particular reason to put their names in the transfer portal. Once they earn their degrees, they don't need a school's permission to transfer.

It makes so much sense for MTM to go to Notre Dame. Also, she's BFF with Fudd. That would be a huge feather in Notre Dame's cap.

especially if you don't end up with Marshall....

Malu Tshitenge-Mutombo is Class of 2019, of course, and is more of a traditional low-post. We could use someone to pair with Mik Vaughn down low. Marshall, Class of 2020, is a bit more of a hybrid: can most certainly fulfill defensive and rebounding responsibilities of a traditional low post, but likes to come out on offense.

Guess we'll have to wait to see what comes of the North Carolina "review" and determine whether MT-M will stick with NC. If she really likes the school, one would think that NC will get a fine coach.

Atlanta Report Confirms GT's Fletcher, Pan Enter Transfer Portal

Guards Kierra Fletcher and Francesca Pan, the two players who left the Georgia Tech team after Machelle Joseph was suspended, have entered the transfer portal. Fletcher as the team's starting point guard and Pan was the team's second leading scorer and main three-point shooter.

Fletcher is a sophomore and has two more years of eligibility, while Pan is a junior with one more year. She might come back to GT. The article says that while both would have to sit out a year, petitions to waive that might be viewed favorably due to the coaching upheaval and subsequent change (see Nebraska and Illinois).

If UConn looking for a three-point specialist? Pan would be worthy of a look: after watching her for three years, she can disappear at times, but when she's hot...whew. Perhaps someone to come off the bench.
It would be problematic for an ACC school to take her with just one year, given the stringent transfer rules (sit one year and lose one year of eligibility). Even if the player can get on the court immediately, what about the "lose one year" portion of the rule?

Two Georgia Tech women’s players enter transfer portal

That question: Do graduate transfers have to enter into the portal has been asked before. I'm not sure we ever got a definitive answer.

Pan would be rather low on my list if that's the need. Just within the ACC you could have:
Laura Cornelius from Miami would be her 5th year of school.
Pan's teammate at GT Balogun actually shot it better from deep on roughly the same amount of attempts
Stephanie Watts from UNC can stroke it and her name is already in the portal.
Haley Gorecki had a bad season shooting the ball but she shot 42% from deep a season ago.

These "entering transfer portals" are coming so fast and furiously, it's hard to keep track. I'm aware of Watts (and Walker) of North Carolina, as well as Pan (and Fletcher) of GT. I have not heard/seen Cornelius, Gorecki and/or Baologun (rumors) yet. Thanks for confirming.

I can't see Cornelius leaving Miami: seems very happy there and her relationship with Meier looked very respectful based on the many sideline conferences I saw them partake in. She's probably not going to play in the WNBA so not sure she'd have to move up. Plus at UConn? With only one year left, she'd be a back-up to Dangerfield.

Watts, I could see. At another school, too, if a certain wing goes pro ;)

I confirmed with Raoul on twitter that Balogun had entered the portal.

Oops! I was just considering their interactions with other faculty. Thanks for clarifying.

Biggest transfer so far. Evina is a stud and will be a major impact player wherever she goes. If she does decide to leave, I think she'd be smart to give Oregon or Oregon State a strong look. At Oregon she would take over for Sabrina (if she stays) in 2021 and will have a strong roster on board with Boley, both Sabally's and her. At OSU she'd play with Slocum for a year and have some good bigs under Scott.

Not sure if she ever considered UCONN but I'm guessing you guys would be off the table with Bueckers/Williams on board in the backcourt. One of the only schools where it's not a given that she'll start.

Lawd... Gorecki aint transferring

If Westbrook is transferring, that is a BIG name to get. Love her game, its smooth. She's only gonna get better. I can see her playing for Graves in Oregon with that talented German player I forgot her name but yeah UCONN should check in to see if she is interested.
