AZURÁ STEVENS bio
I never knew her sister is Da'Shena Stevens. There appears to be another sister - wonder if she plays basketball?![]()
Wow. I didn't know that either.

Not the same skill set as Natalie at all. She is much more of a stretch 4 with range out to 3Pt line. This somewhat more authoritative transfer announcement was made this evening:

Per Kara Treece Madison Treece 6-4 post 2017 has decommitted from Kentucky & is open for recruitment.
Should be excited because she is a 6'4" big except Ms Treece appears to be have a similar skill set as that of current big Natalie Butler.......would prefer some additional mobility from a second big....yes kind of like Azura Stevens

I agree with you, who follows who doesn't necessarily tell you all that much about what a recruit is likely to do......on the other hand I suppose at least it signifies some kind of interest.....from a geographic standpoint you guys have the distinct advantage with AZ but you know that on this board we all believe that UConn is the ultimate destination if she wants to be the best she can be
Hey you watch, after all this talk she'll end up at Notre Dame!!!

Really good player who gave us fits, both inside and outside. Reminds me a bit of Jonquel Jones, but Ms. Stevens is a bit more fluid in her movements, even at this stage. Gosh, with adept coaching, she could be a keeper on USWNT for years.

Madison Treece is not like Natalie Butler. Madison is much more mobile and has range out to the 3Pt line. There is Video of her on line from USA basketball trails. Been keeping an eye on her since she played Freshmen ball with Napheesa Collier and then transferred. Was very disappointed when she committed to Kentucky early. Are you referring to Treece or Stevens? I was comparing Treece to Butler.....

Stevens by a Country Mile!OK....I got ya..the ESPN descriptions make her out to be more of a blue collar low post player thus my comparison to Butler......Dillon77 referenced AZ I think in regards to my thoughts on not needing Treece...given a choice would you rather have Treece or Stevens......and No saying both!!!

However, the inter-conference transfer rules in the ACC are not particularly "welcoming to that sort of transfer."
Perhaps a bit like Chatrice White...do some pounding inside, yet can get outside of the lane to face the basket?
Given all the turnstile activity at Kentucky recently, I was wondering when some folks might think over their commitments, particularly the ones that transfer early. Something just seems off to have that much activity.
Intra-conference![]()
You guys could use some size like Treece right?.... I guess Stevens will not becoming your way due to the ACC transfer issues...given all the good recruits ND is bringing in somehow I think your team will manage....BTW based on all this Stevens to UConn clamor because she now follows UConn and two Husky assistant coaches, Megan Walker is all yours because she follows Ivey and Muffet.....congrats!!!!!!
Thanks...I'm at the chalkboard right now writing it 50 times.![]()

- I think the Irish -- like UConn -- could stand to get some talented forward/bigs in the upcoming recruting year... Coach McGraw has stated as much. Taya Reimer's transfer highlighted this a bit.
- That said, Erin Boley -- even if she's a "stretch 4" -- showed no reluctance to hit the boards in the All-Star games and that was very reassuring to see.
- Lot of Irish folks were interested in looking at Illinois transfer Chatrice White and Treece seems to have some similar qualities, although I don't know if she's drawn to the three-point arc like White is.
- We can keep on many of the other forwards on both the Boneyard and/or McGraw's Bench since we have so much mutual interest in the two Williams (Texas, Florida) and, of course, Ms. Walker.
- and, yes, Ms. Stevens is a player....
DILL: better do some math while you're up there. I know a LOT of you ND guys who are waiters, and you're just as bad as the Dookies in that you can never seem to add up the tab correctly.(Appreciate you thoughts on here, and we loved our bucket list trip to see Pitt at ND on the gridiron a few years back.)
Fun discussions - surprising that no one is more intrigued by Camara - she has the advantage of being a freshman so a team has a minimum of two and possibly three years after her sit-out year (might leave early) and she seemed to come on quite well the second half of her freshman season. 6'2" banger. Don't remember noticing her play, but ...
She just finished her freshman year and forwards have a longer learning curve when moving up to the next level. Besides, you can't judge a player on just stats. Would you think the below stats for another freshman, who is now in the pros, are those of a good player? Her stats aren't particularly impressive and starting some games for an good but not great Kentucky team is not necessarily a major accomplishment for a level UConn player........that said, it was mentioned in an earlier post that Geno was very interested in her and she is an area kid so perhaps there is reason for some mutual attraction.....

6.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, 9 blocks, 19 steals, 47 assists, 43 turnovers, fouled out once in 15.8 minutes a game.
I'm not saying that the two players are similar, just that you wouldn't necessarily see the player this freshman would become from her first year's stats.
And in her starts which all came toward the end of the year her stats improved dramatically with her minutes - she was up to 9+ ppg and solid rebounding numbers - and her first start was against SC when she scored 14 with 9 rebounds I believe against a formidable front line.I get your point.....no doubt..should never use stats alone in judging a player but to answer your question I would need to take context into account........there's a big difference between similar stats as a freshman at UConn and the same stats playing for a far inferior Kentucky team......
