I know this is AAU but this is breaking news:
Derrick Mullen ‏@Hoopsking1968 1h1 hour ago
Just received notification that both Sidney Lowery and Tori Harris have also left NJ Sparks, along with Danielle Patterson. @NYGHoops
Major shake-up coming right after the Boo tournament.
Incase anyone is keeping track her next stop will be her third AAU organization Philly Belles to NJ Sparks to TBD & 2nd High School Medgar Evers to Mary Louis .

And in her starts which all came toward the end of the year her stats improved dramatically with her minutes - she was up to 9+ ppg and solid rebounding numbers - and her first start was against SC when she scored 14 with 9 rebounds I believe against a formidable front line.

I'm at a real disadvantage in judging this player in that I have never seen her play............even stats against SC can be misleading......was she playing against Coates and Wilson or did she get her points in the third/fourth quarter of a SC blowout against bench players...........what type of shots did she score on, garbage time layups, foul shots or great offensive efforts?

You may know we've had an ongoing discussion in other threads about UConn only carrying 11 players next season.....off the top of my head Chung and Lawlor will be graduating and Lexi Gordon and AEH will be incoming freshman........if that's correct it's still 11 players....................would Geno be willing to take a chance and bring in one or two transfers without knowing what other recruits are joining the team? Since UConn typically carries 12 players that makes it much more difficult to fit even qualified transfers.....

Can't provide the reasons for his tweet but there was some activity on Stevens's twitter account today that wouldn't happen unless there weren't something going on between Stevens and UConn. We all know the UConn coaches aren't active on twitter so when they engage in some activity, e.g., Dailey and Moseley following Stevens and being followed back, that tends to mean something's happening.

Having said that, it doesn't mean Stevens is coming to UConn; it suggests there's mutual interest.

As a UConn fan, that's all I can ask. Just let her know that there is serious interest in having her come to Storrs. If she's interested, she'll follow up. As I said earlier, she's going to transfer to somewhere, why not UConn? The coaches of the major or elite programs do not have to sell their programs. The programs sell themselves. I think Stevens already knows what she can expect if she comes here. UConn's legacy and tradition is solid. No fake Hollywood facades or fronts here. What you see, is what you get, understanding that you'll have to work very hard to get it.

The only question is whether she wants to become part of it or not. Does she really want to become the best player she can be by the time she graduates? No doubt she has taken note of the quality of the players that Geno and his coaches graduate every year. Stevens knows the respect WNBA coaches have for UConn graduates, and how much they covet them. When players leave Geno and CD's finishing School, they are highly sought after at the next level. One only had to observe how quickly this year's group of graduates fared in last week's draft.

The results speaks for it self. Its a fair statement to say that if given the opportunity, EVERY team in the league would be able to find a spot on their roster for any one of the 3 graduating seniors. I hope Stevens was able to see the "Letter to my freshman self" piece done by ESPN on our seniors.

That was an insightful foray into their four year journey into the maturation process of college life, and playing basketball at UConn, and their mindset at the end. Most of the transferring players have made a choice by now. Stevens is obviously taking her time before making a decision, exploring all of her options to make sure her choice is the right one, and the best fir for her.

I agree and I don't know that uconn would be that interested, but at the moment in terms of planning uconn was supposed to have one more forward for the next three years (Boykin) so picking up a two or three year forward/center that would 'replace' the missing player is certainly up for consideration. Uconn doesn't take many transfers but if there were a fit that everyone felt comfortable about I think they would.

But I really brought her up because there are a few programs outside the SEC that could be very interested because they have openings - ND specifically comes to mind because they are short on post players on the current team and have no one committed in coming classes (similar to the Uconn situation.)

Fun discussions - surprising that no one is more intrigued by Camara - she has the advantage of being a freshman so a team has a minimum of two and possibly three years after her sit-out year (might leave early) and she seemed to come on quite well the second half of her freshman season. 6'2" banger. Don't remember noticing her play, but ...

She seemed to be the second "big" and certainly was one of the last options on offensive sets. But she played tough against other "big" teams (S. Carolina, Tenn. -- saw a bit of the former game) and the team seemed to go on a nice streak after she was inserted into the lineup permanently.

But you're right -- given the talk on this and other boards about the need for "bigs," she would seem tailor-made, at least from a defensive and rebounding perspective. Will be interesting to see where she pops up.

I think you would sacrifice one year of eligibility and pick Stevens over the Kentucky soph player right?

I mentioned to our ND friend Dillion77 that 6'4" Madison Treece (2017) who just decommited from Kentucky would be an excellent pick up for the Irish............i I'd love to see UConn with a 13 player roster so I'm on board with picking up players if they fit the UConn mold..................

This is a video of Batouly Camara either in a high school practice or just shooting hoops with friends (I watched but didn't listen). All I know is this:

1. She had a college-ready physique in high school
2. She has nice range on her shot for a big girl

and most importantly

3. Geno recruited her when she was in high school. Good enough for me.

Saw Camara play a few times in HS at Blair. In that conference and in those games she could/should have been more dominant. She is physically gifted but basketball sloppy. At KY much of the same with high turnover numbers and lots of personal fouls. The required UCONN details like setting good screens, proper defensive rotations and appropriate shot selection were not a part of her game in HS or in the few games I saw her at Kentucky.
If anyone can fix all of the above it is Geno and Staff, which would makes me all in.

Just don't forget about roster numbers....................if UConn is lucky enough to get M Walker she would be player #12..........depending on who leaves two years from now and who comes in it could be a tight squeeze at least in the minds of the UConn coaches.......................

Don't know if this has been reported elsewhere but it also appears that Kentucky top 2016 commit Lindsey Corsaro a McDonald's All-American has also de-committed from Kentucky per ESPN.
2016 HoopGurlz Recruiting Rankings - espnW 100 - ESPN.
For all the beating TN has taken about not landing any 2016 recruits and these defections KY might be in worse shape. I count a roster of 7 Total for KY next season .

This is really really really ______. So they have just had two de-commits in the last 24 hours on 2016 and one 2017 (verbal) to go with the player exodus and the assistant turnover.
