Transfer Portal Starting to Load

You will, he is 6-6 220, will be 19 this summer and has an old man's style of game. Will be an impact player next year.
It’s nothing against Furphy, but after the struggles freshmen consistently have this year I don’t think it’s realistic to think the lowest ranked guy of this current group will be an impact player.

To me, the path to success next year for Adams would be as a backup 2G who is asked to score and create off of that.

If we ask him to learn the offense as a PG and do more creating and thinking than scoring and don’t give him the rope to make mistakes at the same time, it’ll probably end with him being out the rotation.

Honestly with the way things are shaping up they probably need to grab not just one but two point guards, a stretch four and a backup big in the portal. Will be interesting to see how that shakes out

No idea if there's going to be UConn interest here, but this is a guy I'd love to have as a 6th man/backup PG next year. Would be some nice insurance for what could be a very young bench group

Their freshman big is also in the portal

This is a no brainer if he'd come off the bench, but he could start at a Providence or Cuse level program easily.

This board has been depressing take after depressing take when it comes to this stuff for the past dozen years. Year after year the same nonsense about us being left behind. We got a bit of a reprieve from it this past year in the spring summer because we destroyed everyone in a dozen straight tournament games but the posters are back at it again.

There's a portion of this board that won't he satisfied unless we win every single national championship and if there's anything up in the air they think the roof is going to cave in on them.
You're confusing BB with the Whalers.

Yeah my gut is he'll be able to get the opportunity to start somewhere, so my hopes aren't high. But he's from the same town as me so I'll hold out hope

The last time I laid out a depth chart it was

Solo
Mullins
Ross
Stew
Reed

Nowell
Adams
Abraham
Reibe

With the idea Nowell would get a lot of time as a ballhandler in a Shabazz moving Kemba off ball kind of way with Solo.

Obviously this may not be close to our roster next year. But wouldn’t mind the portal add having a similar role.
Without naming names I would not count on all the players on the above list(s) being members of next year’s team.

There are gonna be no good coaches left. It's early in nil but look at the casualties and guys who have quit. If these schools drop all this dough from their TV deals, dough they weren't dropping before, and not getting results? Those coaches won't last. IU gave the bank to this team. No win, by Woody. That's gonna happen a lot.
This carousel has a short shelf life. If you think NIL like this is sustainable you need to use your imagination.

I don't think IU is the best example here. Woodson was a baaaad coach. It was inevitable from the first day he was hired that his teams would severely underperform. It was a bad hire and no amount of money can overcome incompetence.

NIL will root out folks who maybe could have faked it...and I don't think that's a bad thing for the sport.
