He was a freshman. He's a 6'8 guard who can get his own shot. He can improve defensively. He has NBA ingredients. You take him 10/10 and figure the rest out. We may need 3 starters and bench help. There is still room for "defenders"

Not only that, but Solo improved defensively as the year went on, and so did Stewart. And please do not forget that two years ago Samson could not play without fouling. Young man came a long way. Anyways, defense can be taught.

The 1 year left thing is a good point though. I forgot he came to us as a sophomore. He’s guaranteed to be an All-American next season here though. We’ll see if he ends up doing that if he goes elsewhere and has to learn a new system and new coaching style in his last year.

I have felt this since we missed on both Meleek and Acaden. The $ is crazy now, & without being in another conference for a TV contract, our recruiting allure won't ever match the football teams for tip top talent. Hence the SEC dominating the sweet 16. Inconvenient Reality

SEC is up because the conference developed a plan to compete in basketball and the schools went out and hired good coaches. In 2016, after the SEC got only 3 teams in the NCAAT, the SEC commissioner hired Mike Tranghese (former BE commissioner) as a special consultant for men's basketball and the SEC hasn't looked back. The ACC is down because they don't have a group of top coaches right now. Big East had an off year because Villanova and Providence didn't make good coaching hires and Seton Hall hasn't decided if they want to be competitive with NIL.
