Louisville just got a commit from a PG, and a couple of promising games from Snider recently. Tennessee is, as tcf said, facing sanctions. No Louisville offer yet, so think at this point it's UConn vs. Tennessee. If we lose to on-the-verge-of-sanctions Donnie Tyndall...
If we get Carter we'll stop recruiting all other PGs, but still look for one more four- or five-star recruit at the wing or front court.i mean for freshman coming in, do we need another or no? if we get carter
I'm right there with you. Getting three four-star guards in the same class is how you set a team up to be very, very good for a long time.Preparing to get flamed for this, but I'd be overjoyed if Carter and Brown were all we ended up with. Four 4-star players in one class and no 2/3-star fillers...when was the last time both of those things coincided with each other?
I think you'd be hard pressed to find anyone who disagrees with you (although I'm sure there will be) but that would be a nice class. Close to top ten, and most definitely top fifteen, across the board.Preparing to get flamed for this, but I'd be overjoyed if Carter and Brown were all we ended up with. Let's hope Carter commits and Brown gets through the clearinghouse.
If it works out, I'd love to see the faces of all of these "Ollie can't recruit! Gut the staff!" doomsdayers. You can't judge a recruiter based on their misses in the early signing period, much less with 3 players from areas (SC, VA, Philly) where UCONN has not been historically strong in recruiting (albeit with a few exceptions) that the staff simply started working on late. Ollie's not a powerhouse recruiter yet, but he isn't the schmuck the disgruntled customers here have made him out to be.
They would still be there because:
- Enoch is from CT and he is a project who isn't averaging 30-20-10-5 in high school, so he doesn't count and in fact is a negative
- Adams is from Roxbury, grew up a UConn fan and has no left hand, so he doesn't count, but fortunately is only a slight negative
- Brown is Adams cousin and UConn had to have him reclassify so he isn't ranked among 2015 kids, so he doesn't count at all
- Carter is from New Jersey, didn't get a UL offer and is ranked outside the top 100 so he should really count as a 2 star and that's a negative.
Overall this makes the class ranking from 15-20 to about 330...why is our recruiting worse than Vermonts?
God forbid one of those two goes elsewhere, unless you know, UConn gets someone better the fans can complain about.
Let's not forget the constant verbal abuse all of our new recruits will get here once they have one negative performance.
UPDATE:
That is indeed a fake Instagram account. We are not in his Final 3 yet, nor has Tennessee been in on him.

Why would 24/7 make a statement about the top 3 then?
I'd be pretty happy with Brown/Carter, but I wouldn't mind Mo Wagner, that big German dude playing with Niels on AB. I watched some videos of him and he showed some really nice skills, running the floor like a champ and able to attack off the drib le from the midrange and farther.
If this team had a Rip, Ray, Rashad or Mourning, Purvis would get very little playing time.
Apparently he likes playing in gyms that seat 5000 fans, even though they only get 2,000 to go to games. He'd fit in perfect in the AAC.Per Zagsblog, Carter sets up two officials..Xavier and Marquette.....Still undecided on the final 3.
