Who should start at QB going forward?

Not sure how you do it but can play 4 games and keep red shirt. Use that in some way to get both QB's some game experience. Down a lot in 4th quarter why not give W a few series. Something strange about our recent QB's speed/movement. Maybe was spoiled by Pindell but last 2 years expected QB's to have more giddyap, Nick also. Part may be so many defenders in box but part seems to be lack of escapability. Hard to do RPO with this type QB and so many defenders in box, unless I'm imagining this, what are the coaches going to do to address this?

I think it is nuts to think Evers shouldn’t start. First game in college, has physical tools, the team was outmanned.

50-7 isn’t a QB issue.

Three things the fanbase has to stop doig. After every game …

1. Blaming coach for every defeat
2. Blaming qb
3. Asking to do away with football

That was a lopsided talent mismatch. It’s sobering because 15 years ago the talent was much closer. But that is not the case anymore.

That was a power 4 team against a G5 team that has to get its act together after bringing in 40 new players.

Team isn’t in the same stratosphere as Maryland.

He’s highly touted for things he did in high school.

It’s his third stop and he didn’t separate himself from Joe Fagnano.

Sticking with him his falling prey to the sunk cost fallacy.

Come on John are you new to the boneyard? This has always been their reaction to a loss. Although now they've evolved in to asking for the 4th string freshman Qb instead of the backup.

You need to stop lecturing the fanbase on what they should be doing. The coaching was horrendous, many fans aren't going to just stick their head in the sand and say we can't compete because we have terrible talent and coaching doesn't matter.

I'm not a football guru. But Evers mechanics looked atrocious.
All of his horrific passes came on the run. Or with him throwing off the back foot.
Very few of his incompletions were even remotely close.

I also think that's a factor, NIL and free player movement is allowing talent to just stack/stratify whereas before it was a bit of a gamble if you could evaluate the players on the game tape or not.

I was surprised by the fact he did not have wheels. I expected him to be faster. I did not see it.

Eh, Pindell was plenty fast enough. Go back and watch his TD run against Syracuse. I just want a QB that hits guys in stride and every other throw isn't off the mark or behind the guy. What I'm really concerned about is Sammis as OC. That was less than inspiring.

I'm going to pray its "first game" stuff... some of the choices were not inspiring... not going for a run on 3rd and 2 in the first half when we needed to show we can score touchdowns, for instance. You have a backfield of fresh runners, run them. Take away a bit of their confidence.

Pindell ran a 4.54. he was fast. I think people forget how good his production was, especially considering the lack of talent around him. If he was the QB during Mora's first season we'd have won 8-9 games

It’s not that I wanted to see him leave but rather why bring in and pay the same skill set QB that you’ve had rostered already and it was obvious, Roberson was not the long term solution or gap closer in regards to overall talent. I agree Evers deserves the benefit of the doubt with his actual experience, but I think the only true QB difference maker on the roster is potentially Welliver. I’m rooting for em all though.
 
From my couch it appeared that neither QB was very good while rolling out, yet Sammis called that play quite a few times. Add in the ineffective runs outside. Is this a case of implementing a scheme which does not fit the personnel? I recall at least 2 rolls left with a RB releasing, just getting crushed and the play was dead.

If we see similar results against Merrimack, then we have a huge problem. However is this our overall goal, to be better than Merrimack? I was hoping to cover against MD, not a win and we got crushed quite easily.

It is way way to soon for people to be calling for his job, it was quite literally his first career start. On the road against a much stronger opponent. Did it not look great? Yes but he needs time to develop. Now if we get half way through the season and it looks the same then we can talk.
