Good news: The Yanks and Sox can actually play a baseball game in 2 hours and 15 minutes.

Bad news: The reason it was so fast is because mediocre pitching mowed down the Yanks like they were LLers.

Doesn’t get any easier. We now have 7 games vs. the Rays and the Jays.

Could find ourselves only 5-6 games up after this stint the way we’re playing.

8 total runs for the Yankees in their last 5 games and Montgomery pitches his second straight scoreless game for the Cardinals.
Cashman should be toast. This is the culmination of his baseball god complex in a nutshell. He thinks he’s this super baseball genius like Billy Beane who can build a team with a bunch of diamond in the rough players. He got punked by the freaking marlins because of his hubris. Meanwhile our top talent is being left wasted down on the farm. Sad thing is, it will continue to happen as long as he’s GM.

Cashman inherited a championship/dynasty team in 1998 and drove it into the ground with questionable trades and signings shortly after.

Look back at the Yankees signings and try not to vomit.

Just look at the past few years. He signed Hicks to a 7 year deal after an average season. Let Didi walk and left a hole at SS. Although Didi has fallen off a cliff, his swing was built for Yankee Stadium and he was an energy guy in the clubhouse. He tried to outsmart the Rays in the ALDS with the Garcia “opener” move which backfired horrificly in more ways than one (did it ruin the kids confidence, idk?). The he traded away Gio who cost basically nothing & was still under team control for an aging Donaldson on a $50 million contract. He had the opportunity to resign Judge for $35 million per this offseason but cheaped out. Now we might lose our franchise player because it’s fair to ask will Cashman really put another $350 million + contract on the books? which is what Judge is now in line to get from someone…

Urshela is better than Donaldson another horrid move by our pos GM. One of so many. He got huge kudos for the Holmes deal, what does he get now that the kid can’t find the plate or get anyone out?

Needs to go the Giants finally rid themselves of Gettle crap now please the Yankes need to do the same.

One of the top 3 moves Cashman made since the 2009 championship was getting Gio for like $25K from Toronto. Then it was all undone by giving him away for a washed up, locker room cancer, $50 million contract.

I will give Cashman credit for finding some diamonds in the rough. Gio. Voit. Holmes. Cortes.

But his biggest problem at GM is that he overvalues guys once they put on pinstripes and holds them WAY past their peak trade value. Frazier. Voit. Andujar.

Gio is the one guy he traded away at his peak value and the return was absolutely terrible.

My hunch as to why we haven't seen Peraza up in the majors yet is because he is trying to "protect" his trade value with fear of a bad start in The Show diminishing a hypothetical trade he wants to make this offseason. It's a pretty obvious move to DFA Marwin Gonzales and give Peraza a shot. If it doesn't work out, send Peraza back down and bring up Wade, who is the same player as Marwin.

Hal loves Cashman because he spends (or doesn't spend) his money the way he wants him to. So unfortunately I don't think he's ever going anywhere unless its Cashman's decision to leave. George is probably rolling in his grave right now after the past 3 weeks...

The opportunity to "EDIT" goes away fast now. That last sentence is a mess, tough to work and check in on the BY huh? LOL

Not sure the Yankees would’ve been able to unload Sanchez without including Gio, but I agree with your sentiment (that the game has passed Cashman by)…

He’s got to solve the infield issues relatively soon. Another season of Donaldson, IKF, Gleyber, and throwing DJ wherever will not work.

But yes I agree. As much as I want to say Cashman is responsible, Boone can’t manage worth a lick. His bullpen management and situational coaching is miles worse than Girardi’s - and that’s saying something.

They are now making mediocre pitching look like HOF material. Imagine what chance they have against playoff teams with a 1-2 killer punch. In judges defense he is due for a slump of sorts and it looks like we are there. Then again he’s not swinging at strikes mainly because why would he see many? I mean nobody to protect him whatsoever. .220 hitters galore.

Nice job Brian!

While I'm finding this hand-wringing enjoyable, I'd trade rosters and GM with you guys in a heartbeat. You can keep the manager.

Been shut out 3 times in the past week lmao. They’ve scored in just 5 innings over their past 59 innings. Sad.

After the Mets called up Baty today, it is criminal that Peraza is still down in AAA.

I hope this move by our cross town, division leading rival inspires Cashman to make the correct move for once.

Your manager is well overrated as well we don’t want either. Rosters offensively healthy I would make that trade. Well prior to injuries and trades at least.

It’s still going an impressive streak. They haven’t scored in almost as many days that Cliffy has shied away

The cool thing is they’re so bad the games are fast!

Corey Kluber is now a stud tonight versus the Yanks. This is becoming beyond painful.

i've been surfing, moron.
lessee here, a month ago, the bombers headed into the break with their alltime record lead of 12. today. it's 10.
pro tip.

what, u were spectin 'tragedy?' yeah, umm no.
all the news that i know is that we got benintendi, and michael brantley is out for the season. i like our chances.
youse were informed a while back that there are a pantload of new faces added to the squad in the past few weeks, so it's merely time to sit back, and just wait to see what the final team will look like. duh.
i like hicks, but like joey, it feels like he's worn out his starting welcome, and now he's playing like he knows that new guy is just healing up, and will be taking his spot pretty soon. also, duh.
10 games ahead, hoosy easily reachable. like a long weekend reachable.

waiting on future hall of famer giancarlo to come back from vacay.

really, really, helps ur golf game (mebbe this is the year i break 80 twice in one week! never happened yet, but im hopeful, and i'll find out in the next bunch of days).
also adds hops to ur hoop game, too. just in time for summer league playoffs.

i suppose, as a public service, that i should head over to the 'weather' threads, and inform them that it looks dry as a bone (whatever that means) for the next few weeks. nah, let them just listen to the 'experts' on tv, as soo many seem to do for soo many things.
i did see that joke of a broadcast on sunday, where alex, who i greatly enjoyed as a player, lost his mind in criticism for the Yankees.
he's getting fat and sloppy, too.
