Sorry…I was the one who brought up the Patriots.

I was going to post it on the Patriots board….but this board was quiet, so I figured I would stir it up here.

Doesn't matter. If we feel like crapping on the Patriots, this is the place we're going to do it. And if someone doesn't like it or is too insecure to ignore it, stay off the thread.

Sauce to the Colts for two first rounders.

The tank is full on.
this is a wow. I never thought they would trade Sauce….and I don’t think they would have except for an offer of two firsts.

This gives us a peak into the Jet’s strategy. They want trade assets in case there is a QB they like and they aren’t in draft position to get him.

Sauce is an interesting guy…he is a shutdown corner…but he isn’t a ballhawk. He will be tough to replace, but you can’t turn down two firsts if you can get that.

At first I was shocked…but lets face it, the team has really sucked with Gardner playing well. Changing things up and trying a different approach isn’t a bad idea. And…I like the idea of doing everything you can to get the qb you want. Plus…this will help them lose more games to get into better draft position…lol

I think this is a win for the Jets. Can just one of those 1sts on another CB, who will be on a cheaper deal (not that the Sauce contract is bad, it's pretty favorable). Colts clearly see an AFC up for grabs and are going for it.

i get the logic, but I am just sad. feels like we're always the ones doing these trades that "make sense". at the end of the day, the team we "fleeced" is making the post-season and we're at home with a 3-14 record and a "boatload of picks". So, we won the trade, but they won the season... which is the whole point. So we still lose, in my book.

cool story, bro (sarcasm aimed at Jets GM).

i'm tired of looking for 1st round picks, getting them, seeing a talented kid take the field, but yet somehow our record never reflecting the investment and prior pain it took to get the kid.

I don't want to lose Q-brothers, Breece, Wilson, B. Allen, even for a "good trade" ... if we're just gonna be 5-12 anyway in 3 years, with the new draft picks.

I give the Colts credit for boldness. It's a win now and later move. And it's a good haul for the Jets, Sauce was a nice to have at this point, imo. I was listening to the 'EEI knobs this afternoon say with authority, "You never see guys moved for a #1 at the deadline."

nvm. jets traded Quinnen Williams to cowboys.

Dude. Flock this team. like seriously. all the way.

The painful part of losing these guys is Darren Mougey pulling the strings for a Glenn coached team.

When they stink the next 2-3 years and those guys get fired, the new regime will not want to long term sign the new guys to big deals, they'll want their own players on the roster and we're right back in this same spot again.

This franchise sucks so friggin' bad it makes me want to slam my head in a car door.

Sauce just signed a 4x$30M contract. Getting that money off the books is good for NYJ. Shutdown corners are available after the 1st round and it's a luxury the Jets don't really need right now.

@Jetskies !! What's happening?! Why do the New York teams hate us so?!
what's wrong w the giants? sry i don't follow them, like... not one bit.

  • Dart is gonna be the guy ---- congrats!
  • Skattebo - tough break there (pun intended), that doens't look good long term even if he recovers... i fear that may be one of those "what could have beens". that was a nasty ankle twist.

let's not turn this into the Giants forum, though. if u wanna teach me some feel free to respond to me over on the giants thread.

I'm not here to talk about my disasterful franchise with a promising future. I'm here to talk about your disasterful franchise!

Selling off their best defensive pieces. No doubt as a Jets fan you know exactly where your franchise is, but it's still got to hurt. Even if it makes sense, it's painful to see.

i could bear losing sauce, i still don't think he ever became we imagined him becoming. I cannot remember a single interception of his, but i certainly remember penalties. happy to have him if he wanted to stay, but not at that price. Good riddance.

Once i saw quinnen news, i was done. these front office guys are gonna set us back another 3 years.... at which point in that 4th year, when everythings "finally set up" like it was in 2023 w/ Rodgers, we'll lose the QB and go 5-12 again. Mougey and AG will get fired and then next regime will sell everyone off again.

literally why are any of you turning your tv's on, on Sundays.
They are not worth our time and attention

this was the best 15 seconds of my jets fanhood, since 2011.
That's it. lol

Most outlets give the Jets an "A" grade for today and I can see why. They just don't have to live with the next 3 years on top of the last 50 like I do. It gets tough being patient after a few decades, you know?

AG and Mougey now get a free pass for this year..and it’s almost like their tenure starts next year…and then they get 3 years to get their own guys. It’s disappointing that they couldn’t figure out how to add pieces to the existing team and create a winner. They didn’t have cap issues and needed to clear room by trading players on big contracts. And it wasn’t like Gardner and QW were bad guys.

Well…on the bright side….the new QB shouldn’t come into as bad of a situation as Darnold and WIlson came into. The OL is decent..with good young tackles…they have a star WR and a good TE. Now all they need to do is not whiff on the QB…again. And then maybe 5 years down the road they can make a wildcard playoff game. Sigh.
