The Official 2025 NY Jets thread

Sometimes we forget these athletes are people. Fields will make $30mm this year…and despite that success he was crying on the floor of his closet yesterday. It shows how these players care about more than just the money.

Good for him…i am glad he seemed to get out of his head today and just play.

echoing the sentiments of others around nick mangold. I won't soapbox about it except to say I have included his family in my prayers this week.

--------------------------

I again did not watch the jets this weekend, as expected. Lived my sunday to the fullest, but was happy to catch highlights and see them say "screw it" and just go for ballsy playcalls and... actually get it. when you're 0-7, you have nothing left to lose. The template of risk-taking displayed this week by the Jets, is not a sustainable winning model, but for this past week, it was exactly what we needed, to inject something... anything... into a dying locker room. Good for them, good for these HUMANS.

laundry is just laundry, but underneath the helmets and jerseys are people who care about a dream (not necessarily your city, and that's ok). That dream's feasibility is directly measured by team winning and individual impact, and I am familiar with the identity crises that affect these men, across all major pro sports... a family member of mine serves in chaplain ministry for a major pro sports team (won't share details) and shares very real and sad stories of these men's inner lives and concerns.

Any minute it could end, any minute you could get DFA'd or relegated to practice squad or G-League, or simply waived. And once you're released, the machine churns on, and you're left behind at the train station.

Sometimes, we need these nick mangold moments to remember life is gonna punch all of us hard, and it helps to remain thankful for everything we have, and continue doing so in spite of what we wish were true that never became true.

Enjoy your week, fellow Jetskies :)

Nonsense. People posted the videos and nobody is clapping.
It was definitely not enough to cause a snap, so it's a lame excuse. But watch the red FG target line. Jaylinn Hawkins claps as he comes back into the picture and the ball is immediately snapped

God forbid Pats fans ever believe their franchise does something questionable....

The Falcons didn't have much of a silent count and Penix was clapping all day. So of course the hands of a DB 12 yards from the opposite direction with gloves on that barely making contact is mistaken for a snap count.

C'mon, Man!!

You know if I type the word "deflategate", it's going to trigger the entire Northeast, right?

Just those who need to feel better about themselves and the teams for whom they root.

Cut us some slack…we follow a horrible team who has no light at the end of the tunnel.

Sorry…I was the one who brought up the Patriots.

I was going to post it on the Patriots board….but this board was quiet, so I figured I would stir it up here.

Doesn't matter. If we feel like crapping on the Patriots, this is the place we're going to do it. And if someone doesn't like it or is too insecure to ignore it, stay off the thread.

In other news:

A true disciple of Bill Belichick. Now he just needs to look for his future wife at an elementary school,

The point of the post was the Jason Garrett bit, bur this was funny.

Sauce to the Colts for two first rounders.

The tank is full on.
this is a wow. I never thought they would trade Sauce….and I don’t think they would have except for an offer of two firsts.

This gives us a peak into the Jet’s strategy. They want trade assets in case there is a QB they like and they aren’t in draft position to get him.

Sauce is an interesting guy…he is a shutdown corner…but he isn’t a ballhawk. He will be tough to replace, but you can’t turn down two firsts if you can get that.

At first I was shocked…but lets face it, the team has really sucked with Gardner playing well. Changing things up and trying a different approach isn’t a bad idea. And…I like the idea of doing everything you can to get the qb you want. Plus…this will help them lose more games to get into better draft position…lol

I think this is a win for the Jets. Can just one of those 1sts on another CB, who will be on a cheaper deal (not that the Sauce contract is bad, it's pretty favorable). Colts clearly see an AFC up for grabs and are going for it.

i get the logic, but I am just sad. feels like we're always the ones doing these trades that "make sense". at the end of the day, the team we "fleeced" is making the post-season and we're at home with a 3-14 record and a "boatload of picks". So, we won the trade, but they won the season... which is the whole point. So we still lose, in my book.

cool story, bro (sarcasm aimed at Jets GM).

i'm tired of looking for 1st round picks, getting them, seeing a talented kid take the field, but yet somehow our record never reflecting the investment and prior pain it took to get the kid.

I don't want to lose Q-brothers, Breece, Wilson, B. Allen, even for a "good trade" ... if we're just gonna be 5-12 anyway in 3 years, with the new draft picks.

I give the Colts credit for boldness. It's a win now and later move. And it's a good haul for the Jets, Sauce was a nice to have at this point, imo. I was listening to the 'EEI knobs this afternoon say with authority, "You never see guys moved for a #1 at the deadline."

nvm. jets traded Quinnen Williams to cowboys.

Dude. Flock this team. like seriously. all the way.

The painful part of losing these guys is Darren Mougey pulling the strings for a Glenn coached team.

When they stink the next 2-3 years and those guys get fired, the new regime will not want to long term sign the new guys to big deals, they'll want their own players on the roster and we're right back in this same spot again.

This franchise sucks so friggin' bad it makes me want to slam my head in a car door.

Sauce just signed a 4x$30M contract. Getting that money off the books is good for NYJ. Shutdown corners are available after the 1st round and it's a luxury the Jets don't really need right now.
