Totally agree Mau. His offense can even be better than that. But he is worth it.
 
At least we know now who has the better fans. Friday night against the Jays, the Yanks only draw 32K. That's less than the Sox drew against the worst team in baseball. Is it still a pennant race if nobody cares enough to show up?

Those are happy stats for you congrats on that Waq. Our guys are still playing and I could care less about attendance.

By the way it was the Rays not the Jays. And the more I read this the funnier I find this. I mean you have that kind of time to look at things like that and come to the conclusion that your fans are better?

Maybe Dombrowski can get you back to .500 again sometime in the near future then what you reply will have some meaning until then you and your 35K are irrelevant. Yankee fans for 2 years on here have not even discussed the pathetic play of the Sox but look at what you do? :rolleyes:

Honestly I've watched a few innings here or there of NY games because I hate them and want them to lose..
And it's amazing how many empty seats there are in NY stadium. Literally there are huge sections that are virtually empty in the bleachers. Whats' going on? The Yankees are in a pennant race and they're surrounded by what, 15 million people and they can't draw more than 25K actual fannies in the seats???
Has this been going on all year?

As much as they don't like Boston I'd imagine it's impossible for them to ignore the fact that Yankees fans just aren't going to games. It's amazing how that building is half empty.

It took me all of a minute to come up with that. I happened to glance at the Courant sports page and there was that shockingly low figure. In other words, on a Friday night the Yankees barely outdrew UConn-Nova football. Good thing the Stadium doesn't hold 80K anymore.

You may not understand this, but the past couple of years have been a down time for the Yankees. Were a little spoiled.
 
With Ellsbury and Gardner both hitting .267 I think we are on our way to another "down year" as we get the news Evoldi and Texiera down for the rest of the regular season as well. One can only hope they can hold on for the 2nd wild card spot at this point as the offense sputters and the pitching looks really tired even the BP.
 
Have faith Mau. I'm not feeling winning the east but think we will be a wild card and Tanaka will give us a shot at moving forward.
 
Bummer. But we knew we had old, injury prone, players but just when I began to believe they would make it through the season they are all falling apart. Bird and our outfielders will need to pick it up.

Shreve? Nice button Joe. Guys been dreadful the 2nd half of the year, pitiful actually. And he's his choice with the bases loaded?
 
At this point, the only thing we have going for us is, at least the collapse isn't as bad as '78. I mean who thought the Yankees were going anywhere at the beginning of the year.
 
I don't care about the amount of runs you score its how you score and when you do it. In tight games they fail to get key runs across the board.

Joe Girardi has been dreadful down the stretch. Granted the Yankes offense is gross, no one is hitting now but to PH for Tanaka in the top of 7th leading off was ridicilous. I mean Jacoby is hitting at an .098 rate since the all start game so maybe he's a little better than Tanaka :rolleyes: but please Joe you did that so you could being in SHREVE, FN SHREVE who hasn't gotten anyone out expect Ellsbury in practice since the All Start break? Joe doesn't have it going at all and by the way, you don't take ARod out of the lineup either especially against a lefty. He should have been taking ground balls at 1st for the last 2 weeks getting ready for this series. And this guy Reed made 3 guys look like LLers with his flaming :confused:93MPH fastball - WTF? Awful hitting team now.

Joe's worst year and he's killing them. Sox fans must be laughing at Ellsbury's contract now as we speak and they deserve to. He's pitiful!

Between the Giants handing one to the 'Boys and now this teams inability to hit the ball is there any way UConn can start practice this week?

Joe's worst year? They look terrible now but that's probably how they should have looked all year. They are still most likely going to make the playoffs, without Tex who was their best hitter all season. This team is not talented and I consider it one of Joe's best seasons managing.
 
I don't get the Shreve decisions lately, but I'm more with John. Pitching and offense has mostly patched together for the past 3 years.
I blame Cash. Since the Boss moved on, he has been running the team like a cheap moneyball project.The exception being when they knew they were about to have some bad PR for letting Cano go. Then he rushed out and spent almost as much money to get the most injury prone player in MLB. $180 million on a long term contract was all damage control in my opinion.
 
Sorry guys he was a good coach when they were playing over their heads. Both of you could be too. Now when he needs to be pushing the right buttons to help get W's he's not. I'm in agreement they are in a better place than where we would have guessed but by no means is that ALL Joe. I mean Tex and ARod's comeback years are on them, McCann, Headley and Didi have had better than expected years Young great against lefties and Betances/Miller have been great finishing. Let's not pretend with them hitting HR's and the staff just being good enough to get to the 7/8/9 that he was a master or anything. I like Joe he's fine but he got lucky with the way people played this year too. His love of Shreve is amazing? And Ryan, please try Refsnyder instead.
