That's the rare contract buyout where the dates actually do matter. Pretty sure it does drop in half after that date. Go figure. I guess the coach really didn't want to be fired midseason.
This is a really interesting take…and I’d add Oklahoma and Vandy into that mix. Historically, the SEC was Tennessee and maybe one other team. Georgia was good for a while. LSU had some good teams. But it was easier for Tennessee to be consistently at or near the top with less competition. As you pointed out, there’s a lot more competition now. It’s going to make any rebuild a lot more difficult.
Good points. Some programs will take some time to rebuild. I am hoping Arkansas can get back into shape soon.
