At PF we have:

Facey
Diarra
Durham

Which doesn't include Jackson who may be a stretch 4. Plus Enoch. That's a logjam for min if I've ever seen one.
Yes, lots of bodies. Not so sure if it will be all that insurmountable to come out on top of that logjam. Brimah, if he returns struggles to stay on the floor and is strictly a 5. Facey was and will continue to be a fill in role player. He's a 4 in a 3-man's body who has next to no post-up game. Jackson and Durham are both 3/4 combos, neither are bangers. If T-Squared... Hey if we're making up nicknames but I digress...is a legit high-major talent, his competition is really with Enoch and Diarra, and neither of them have any stranglehold at either frontcourt position.

With all that said, less options elsewhere might be more attractive to him. If a recruit wants to play for one of the big boys, they're going to face strong competition, though I wouldn't consider what UConn currently has is anything close to a gauntlet to get through.

Let's hope that this SH visit is nothing more than him checking out all his options, and in the end he picks us. Though the odds of landing a recruit once they leave campus drops dramatically.

What's his middle name? I want to go the opposite direction and use all 3 names every time I refer to him.

If his middle name is Ignatious, you could just go with the initials, everyone loves....

I'm lobbying got T2 (Squared). Big-T sounds like a sandwich. :)
I love sandwiches, especially a nice MLT – mutton, lettuce and tomato sandwich, where the mutton is nice and lean and the tomato is ripe. They’re so perky, I love that.

Plenty of nice parts of NJ from the beaches to the pine barrens to the northwest ( grandparents lived on a lake in Sparta for a short while ) to the towns and mansions off palisades pkwy/ 9w .

Signed, born in englewood , grew up in tenafly
Was always in Englewood and then Cliffside Park visiting my grandparents. All my family is from North Jersey.

Anything is possible. Brimah may realize he has little chance to ever play in the NBA but can play professionally overseas and make decent $$ so what is 1 more year of college going to do for him.

I think he should stay but honestly if he doesn't come back 15-20 pounds heavier (muscle) and with better low post moves it would have been a wasted offseason.
Yes he better come back 6" taller too.

I'm on record as saying Amida will keep improving. He may never be an offensive force but I believe a Senior Brimah will surprise a lot of haters

Not sure who the haters are but if they're out there this would surprise them. I know it will also surprise the people who haven't seen anything from him but are rooting for the improvement, for 3 years now. Hear's hoping you are correct the crow is waiting and I'm all in.

I'm not a hater and I don't think there are a lot out there either.
I think that most who have questions/issues with AB center around the fact that as a frosh he showed glimpses of what promised to be a great 2 0r 3 yr contribution.
Now, entering his senior year, many are waiting for the real center to show up - I think I saw him in the first SMU game this past season
I understand he hasn't played a long time and injuries have played a part, but, the guy just doesn't seem to understand and/or practice the basics of footwork, positioning and rebounding techniques. Just from watching the game he should improve
He has little/no more time to learn - he must play effectively and most importantly - stay in the game.
Can he do it? 40% of me says yes but 60% of me says that's a lot to accomplish over a summer
The clock is winding down
I'm rooting for AB

The word "hater" is so misleading. Nobody here hates AB. That being said, many, including myself, don't think he is a good basketball player. That doesn't mean we dislike him, or we don't want him to succeed, the criticism is for the people who think he's a good player. Someone has to explain to these people why we disagree. I also didn't think SC was any good, guess I'm a hater, right?

*waits for the next game thread where Brimah doesn't play well*

Nobody thinks you actually hate him. You're a big boy, you've been on the internet before, you know what the term means. Here, it means someone who won't admit that despite his flaws and unfulfilled promise, our team is better with him than without him. He's not a "good" basketball player? Guys who block 4 shots a game don't grow on trees.

Except he didn't block 4 shots a game last year. And he has a bad tendency to try and over help, which leads to many OBoards and put backs, which hurts the defense. He can't guard even a decent post big without fouling 3 years in, we had to use Phil Nolan to guard bigs he was that bad. Finally, and this should be obvious, but he's a painfully hard player to watch on the offensive end.

Is he (if he stays, or perhaps even if not) finally going to a big boy camp? or is that 'too late' as well?

2.6 shots a game, down almost 1 from last year. We are better with him because he's our only real big guy, if Enoch improves and it's a big "if", we will be better with him.

ha. What a clown post, AB was the best big on the team to close the year... by far. We don't win the AAC tourney without him coming in and shutting down the paint vs cincy. Uconn also made a run in the second half vs kansas to make it a game with AB IN THE GAME.

He has glaring issues as a player ( can't screen, can't operate rolling to the rim), but there was just a bundle of other problems last year ... mainly the lack of offensive talent on the perimeter. had 2 starters shooting sub 40% fg, just terrible. its not just AB, its the entire roster that hasn't developed well enough.

Yes he was our best big. But couldn't start for 3 years because he would only play 5 minutes in the first half because of foul trouble.

Bottom line we need someone who can come in for him and produce or do the Phil thing and buy us time in the first half.

It's not AB only at all and I doubt anyone insinuated that. Heck I thought DHam was a huge issue for 10-12 games with his bad decisions and some bad shots, TO's. Everyone had their share. Everyone has a different opinion and it would seem no one is definitively correct nor can any of us prove to be. But one thing we all agree on, he needs to be a lot better and show the expected improvement this coming year, and it is time we see it.

Yeah I'm not even a huge AB fan, but its clear he is a game changer, and the only one Ollie has at his disposal in the front court ( hence why i think its crazy to say hes a bad player). He definitely needs to improve in two categories for me (no ticky tack fouls is obvious, ala the two vs kansas early) : footwork on screen setting, and really hunting for lobs more. No more post ups, the coaching staff had this obsession late in the year feeding nolan and brimah for post ups and they would end up turning it over or FOULING lol.
