Syracuse is screwed

Cuse's 15-8 isn't horrible....and they are 9-7 in conference.

At 13-1, they are great at home...but they lose on the road.

That thing is hideous.

Cuse and BC.

Sigh... Have you ever seen a robin weep, when the leaves begin to die? That means he's lost the will to live..

They've lost the will to live and their athletic winter's are upon them.

Noles played BC yesterday....beat them by 29 points...BC has become a very bad athletic program.

Ham played his three senior walk-ons to start and they played on and off from the first half...the scout team of walk ons (called the "green team") emphasized the win at the end with a reverse slam in the last minute and a long three.

The incoming BC coach has a Sisyphean task ahead and whomever follows Boeheim may be in better shape.

Had beers with a BC "double Eagle" (undergrad and law) over the weekend. Asked about potential basketball coaches. He said there's no money. Even if they got a halfway decent head coach, they won't pay up for the assistants who do so much of the recruiting.

They're freaking hauling in a mint being in the ACC. Cheap bastards. Tells you what a priority basketball is to them.

ESPN+ headline basically says it all:

"Who can figure out how to win at Boston College?”

Tagline: “The Boston College job is an ACC gig — but an almost impossibly tough one.”

Cuse needs to recruit some talent...

More than in football, a couple of elite guys can put you in the Final Four...

They have gone to Mars to bring in players now on their roster (Oh my stars, Boeheim's gone to Mars")

South Sudan, Nigeria, Slovakia, Netherlands, Mali, Canada....

But that doesn't mean Boeheim doesn't scout close to home...he found a player down the hall from his bedroom.

Took a quick look at their roster. They have 1 (Richmond) player from and 2 players with connections (Griffin and Sidibe) to NYC and its immediate suburbs (Long Island, North Hersey, and Westchester County). That territory was Syracuse's bread and butter along with the Coal Country in PA mixed with a DC and Detroit mixed in. How much did the loss and of playing those rival in the Big Apple several times a year hurt them from a recruiting standpoint? Boeheim's failure to evolve his basketball philosophy as his recruiting declined also hurt. Afterall, would his son have even seen the court when Coleman, McNamara, Anthony? I know Jeff never started at UConn.

So basically, Cuse and BC ceded the northeast to UConn. At least for basketball.

Do those who say we'll never be P5 realize we're one of the very few schools (UConn, Denver, Villanova) not in the P5 or Ivy League who have 20 or more national titles?

1, 2, 3...... 20!

Now, there's a shocker. The fruit feel more comfortable home in Canada than most of the ACC.

I am not sure why there is a home court advantage in a year without fans....but many teams seem to have one.

Syracuse definitely has had one this year going 13-1.

FSU is on a 25 game ACC streak of home wins...Nova is 9-0 at home and 4-3 away.

Familiarity with the court and rims is very important in basketball. The only thing better than your home court is one with super soft rims and a bouncy floor. Farmington High had that back in the day. I loved playing there.

I say we hang @Fishy.

Cuse turned it around after he started this thread and it looks like they'll actually make the tournament.

This is a grave offense to all of Husky Nation.
Did they when when he @$$banged the mojo all those years ago? Was that 2004?

i hate when copying from another site, especally a protected one, but this snippet is just too good not to share.

From Eamonn Brennan's Bubble watch on the athletic:

Syracuse (15-8, 9-7; NET: 51, SOS: 70): You know what we admire in a leader? Thin skin. An unwillingness to consider new ideas. The instinct to insult anyone who would dare level the slightest critical feedback. The belief that only very specific experience, experience kept behind gated walls of your own construction, makes you qualified even to have an opinion. It’s this collection of timeless leadership qualities that has Syracuse once again at the top of its game, recruiting the best players on the Eastern Seaboard, dominating the ACC and competing for national titles … ha ha ha, oh wait, Syracuse has been a bubble team for how many seasons now? This is the seventh, right? This is the same Syracuse team that had to beat North Carolina and Clemson at home just to get a sniff of at-large-bid-ish status at the end of another mediocre season, crucial wins that will maybe — maybe — help the Orange to avoid missing the tournament for the fourth time since 2015? That’s the program we’re talking about? That’s above reproach? Right. Cool. Just checking.

I like this line about UConn's Hall game "Wednesday night’s win over a Seton Hall team that definitely needed its own victory was full of highly competent bits of offensive action that generated good looks pretty much all evening."

And we're a defensive team!

Whooosh, the sound of missing their home games are in their very own Great White North. Zero advantage in not having to fly to the North Pole? SMH

How could they have ceded something they never owned?

It was an obvious visual reference to the legendary Booger Smith of Brooklyn street ball fame....reminding his guards to play like Booger, see the court and make sharp passes...It was said that Booger could see 12 days ahead.

At the very least he should have to eat burnt oranges like that tik-tok cure until he gets the taste of uconn back in his mouth
