The ACC has been a bright shiny lie for most of a decade now.

There's Duke and there's North Carolina.

And then there's nothing but persistent misery. Syracuse, Pittsburgh and Notre Dame just moved to an easier neighborhood.

It is funny to hear ACC fans defend their conference by listing Big East teams that have, or will, be switching. I don't understand everyone flocking there. I know football rules but the ACC was not that different than the Big East. Originally, they were worse. BC's greed did a lot for them.

BC is down 75-63 to Umass with 4 minutes left.

BC is going to hurt UConn's RPI. UConn was better off playing one of those Patriot League teams that win their conference than a dreg ACC team.

THe ACC is the best basketball conference in the country right now- but that does not mean they are the strongest top to bottom. BC blows- and I still smile about that fact. I also believe that Quse and Pitt are not going to be helped by the move in the long run. Lville I think will be fine.

BC is without Lonnie Jackson, their 40% from outside sharpshooter...but still... UMESS?????

I thought going into the season BC was a sleeper for an NCAA tourney bid with Hanlan and Anderson being part of their entire starting 5 returning. Its still early but losing to a PC squad w/o Dunn & Austin and now to UMass is pretty bad, starting to look like a win against them in MSG won't do much for the resume.

They looked painfully slow vs. PC. Anderson is a player, but outside of him I don't know what they have. Their coach is a program builder, except it's for the Ivy League.

Well....we'll just have to take care of Indiana @ MSG also.

3. What was the biggest red flag from the seasons first weekend?
Katz: The bottom of the ACC took a hit. Two of the losses were legitimate -- Boston College against Providence and Maryland against UConn. But two other losses were not -- Miami against St. Francis (N.Y.) and Virginia Tech against USC-Upstate. The strength of the ACC won't be determined by the top, but rather by its overall depth from 1-15.

Katz is always fair -- a good dude.

PS - I can't wait to kick the ish out of BC...

Cincy over NC St. . Also VCU won on the road against Vir. Great road win.

And best of all, Duke loses to KU. The way things are going, every ACC team will have a loss by week's end.

I'm not sure what you clowns are doing, but the surely best conference since the invention of the peach basket isn't losing all these games.

I wish you jokers would just knock it off.

Wait, this game was on TV? What channel and how did you get there?

UCF plays Fl. ST. tonight. Another opportunity for the AAC to beat the ACC.

Channel 731 or 736 on infinity. I didn't even know I had it, was clicking down from channel 1 just to see what was available. I knew I had it on the HDTV because I have an exxtended package, but didn't think it made it on my older sets with limited packages.

Assuredly everyone here is wrong, NCSt only appears to have lost to Cincy bc the scorer forgot to carry over the bonus points NCST got for beating App. St.

We'd have no choice.

We were in the best basketball conference in America last year. (And the year before, and the year before....)

And now we're in the AAC and I swear, I cannot tell you exactly who is in the conference now or who is joining next year.

Geno Auriemma was right ... as he often is:

"We are in a League of our Own"

The Indiana who crushed LIU by a single point?

Well, Syracuse busted last year against UConn, and I'm sure the Cuse fans were laughing at the OT Quinnipiac game.

Did dunlow miss the Cincy game? haven't seen or heard from him/her?;)

If he comes back, he'll have to explain the extra man on the court tech. I haven't seen that one before. I can understand how it happens to a coach. But not at that level. I don't think ESPN is going to take this guy back.

Va Tech lost their top players with the coaching change and the nations leading scorer last year to graduation. Miami is starting over. They are projected to finish 13 and 15 in the league.

Louisville got PF Harrell from Va Tech(signed his LOI but they released him)
Florida got SF Dorian Finney Smith(transfer, top 30 recruit as a Frosh)

Miami lost 7 of its top 8 players from last season. On top of that,
PG transfer Angel Rodriguez(KState) was denied immediate eligibility, will sit.
Top SG recruit, 4 star freshman Deandre Burnett was injured before the season and is done for the year
Top PG recruit Corn Elder is still playing football for the Hurricanes.

That is a lot for any team to deal with.

NC State beat Appalachian State by 21. State also lost 5 of the top 6 players from last season.(nice to get some payback on their coach for the whole Devonte Graham situation)

Juco transfer Dez Lee(Purvis's replacement) scored 24 points on 10-12 shooting. Cat Barber looked great. TJ Warren had 27 and 8 rebounds.

We run 4 freshmen,2 sophomores and 2 transfers in our top 8. Of course there would be a little cohesion problem in the first half of the first game

Blah, blah, blah ...... blah, blah ...... blah ....... blah. You play with what you got. UConn would be ranked No. 1 in the Universe if Jeremy Lamb was a senior, Andre Drummond a junior and Roscoe Smith wasn't racking up double doubles at UNLV, but they are there and not wearing a UConn jersey.

The bottom rung of the major conferences should still be able to dominate teams from leagues that consistently produce a # 16 seed to represent them in the Tourney. This is not a situation that you explain by citing injuries and transfers. The ACC is DOOMED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
