Sidney Wilson's first visit: St. John's

No recruit changes their mind in 1 day from UCONN to St. John's before announcing despite the fluid recruiting nonsense preached on here. He knows where he is going and is not fighting some internal struggle that some people say to make ourselves feel better about losing recruits.

All you have to do is look at that quote that I posted about what his father had to say about UCONN to see that it doesnt look good for us. Nobody's parents who want their son to attend a school says things like "The Thing About UCONN" and their "rebuilding situation".

Here's to hoping though and proving Chief is right again.

Not sure how we recover from this IF we lose out on this kid and/or TW. It seems we are losing more and more recruiting battles with programs that have no business being in the same conversation as us. St. John's? Creighton? Western Kentucky?

The only people saying UConn are the folks whose source is directly or indirectly UConn's Staff. For my sake I hope it's not another Warde in the Tropics moment.

I still think he already has a signed UConn LOI - did it officially get submitted IDK?

The scariest part is if this is another whiff (which it seems like it's going to be) is the total disconnect between staff and players. The staff all 100% thinks Sid is committing here. If he's St. John's bound it's amazing how the staff keeps getting blindsided.

Pay attention to what's going on with our program and what's going on behind the scenes. It's not the fanbase Ollie has to worry about.

I think all the johnnies talk might just be a smokescreen, see it with football recruits all the time. Somebody knows their favorite school, they throw some rumors out there about a different school. Most recent case with Jackson Carman, heavy Ohio state lean, kid wants attention then says Clemson was his leader with OSU a close 1B. Been recruiting behind the scenes for OSU the whole time. Hopefully same case with Sid, with him eventually coming here.

if you believe Oz, he says the staff is under the impression that he's committing to UConn. If the staff is wrong on this then it will just confirm there are more problems with the program than appear on the surface.

I will be surprised if he picks UConn and I've felt that way after reading his father's quotes yesterday, especially after what Jr. said about Chillious being his "man, even if he doesn't go to UConn."

Those two quotes combined tell me he is headed elsewhere.

Same friend who said Ollie was 100% confident Hamidou was coming here. People with sources here heard the same thing, OZ said he talked directly to the staff and they told him Sid is a done deal for us.

As someone who spent 4 years at UConn with Susan as president I can confirm this. It was pretty bad

I was at the Yard Goats stadium last night. I give KO full credit for going there to support UConn athletics. The ballpark is great. And the food and drink, very good.
