I just want to be on the record : If we are invited to the NIT there is a 100 percent chance we accept.
wha happened???
Indefinately =? forever?
Which begs the Q: what was wrong w him 2-3 weeks ago?
No. I'm in that camp too.Am I the only one who hopes Sid is back for Houston?
100% want him back. I hope Dan Hurley gave him a route to come back. His 10-12 minutes is still very much needed. I’m not sure what he did but if it’s school related extra work could be an avenue to sufficeAm I the only one who hopes Sid is back for Houston?
I have found that is very difficult to get the super athletic (and Sid is super athletic) to embrace fundamentals. Almost every kid is a good kid, but there is a mindset that what I do works and I'll continue to make it work. Super athletes focus on their highlight plays and forget the 3 times their man back-doored them for an easy layup. Fundamentals and drills are no fun. They are the grind of sports. I have been incredibly frustrated this entire year watching Sid. Believing what he could be (do you remember Dr. J?) and watching a display of the worst basketball I have ever seen in a UConn uniform. His thunderous blocks usually came from behind because he couldn't keep his man in front of him. I am so sorry to see the young man go. I hope he wakes up while there is still a little sand in the hourglass.![]()

+3 in RI. Little chance or hope but I am loathe to give up on that much talent.Am I the only one who hopes Sid is back for Houston?
That is plenty enough when the other only option is only seven players.he wasn't doing much except giving guys a rest, more concerned with bad fouls and players fouling out
This is a bad take as well.I highly doubt we accept a bid to the NIT. We already have two players injured going into next year, I don't think the NIT is worth risking a third. The juice is not worth the squeeze IMO. Having just 7 players makes it even easier to say no thanks.
Please god we Mets fans have a tough enough existence as it is. You really don’t need to make us all look any worse with the worst take of the year.I highly doubt we accept a bid to the NIT. Winning the Big East tournament in 2011 was a huge factor in propelling us to a national championship, as was the run to the AAC finals in 2014. Those games absolutely do prepare teams for the one and done experience of the NCAA's.
Ignorance is bliss. But then you are a self confessed Mets fan. I can only imagine you think Wilpon is a genius.I highly doubt we accept a bid to the NIT. Don't you get it? It's the extra practice, the extra coaching, the extra time on the court. This is invaluable in preparation for next year. There is not one drawback to playing in the NIT. What inthe world are you afraid of? I gotta go, I can't believe I'm letting a Mets fan frustrate me.Wrong, right now we are still playing for seeding in the AAC tournament and the chance to win that tournament and make the real tournament. These games matter.
Did I wake up in 1947? The NIT is important again??
ABSOLUTELY - Do you know what the call those afraid to get hurt? spectators.Sure, let's play, under the time-tested theory that everything's fine until it isn't. Tired players get injured. Tired legs take missteps and break down. The question is not, "Will it happen?" but "If it does happen, can you justify the risk you took?"
Time for you to get on the sideline.A reminder that Akok was clearly playing tired long before he went down with the Achilles. Reminder that Polley's ACL came in the very next practice after his 19/11 game against Tulane. Suddenly the stand-still shooter becomes an aggressive driver and offensive rebounder, shocking everyone, including, as it turns out, his ACL. Thanks to all here who point out that playing tournament-grade D-1 basketball is no more taxing that getting out of bed in the morning -- or curling up in your mother's lap. More thoughts from the knee bone always welcome.
Man I feel for these poor depressed kids. They most have won the NIT, now they have to slink back to school under cover of darkeness to hide their shame. And I bet their coach got fired for being cruel to his players.Could not agree more. No one cares about winning the NIT anymore

Yes, that's why they call them players. If they don't get an invite, do you know what they will be doing. They will be on the court, beating the crap out of each other without coaching and supervision. Do you know anyone who played?I guess the big question is do the players in 2020 give a darn about the opportunity to win the NIT championship? It is a real question. They obviously did in 1988. Not so much in 1989. If they deem it important then do it. But the goal needs to be to win it, not just show up.
What?!?Could this be a Hurley / Ollie thing? Hurley gets called to court..... maybe Sid said something he shouldn't have
Were Sid and Ollie close?
RIP Jeff King!!
Mmm one mistake by Bouk and he was punished for it. Kind of apples and oranges.Have you seen Bouknight play? Have you seen Sid play? I'm not sure Coach Hurley is willing to put up with Sid's BS as much as he did Bouknight's BS.

I agree, I just don't think Sid has nearly as much rope as Bouk.Mmm one mistake by Bouk and he was punished for it. Kind of apples and oranges.
Ok so back to Sid's suspension...does anybody know what he actually did or did not do?
