No jokes please, but are people being a little too generous in translating his Ivy League numbers to our team?

The article said he was second to Justin Sears in the Ivy. Justin Sears went 12 & 15 against us in a 45-44 point game. If he's close to that, sign him up quick.

Ivy League rules: http://www.nytimes.com/2015/03/04/s...ifth-year-but-it-cant-be-at-cornell.html?_r=0

Miller, who missed last season after shoulder surgery, is in the curious position of having a year of eligibility left but not being able to use it at Cornell. An Ivy League rule forbids the participation of graduate students, so Miller will essentially be a free agent come his graduation in May.
he has to transfer because Ivey League schools give you only 8 semesters as a student. Which is why an injured football player will withdraw from school.. Rather than use up semesters being injured.

I like the productivity, but I think he's also probably got a pretty high basketball (and otherwise) IQ. We could use some of that for sure. People knowing when to make the plays that need to be made. When not to foul, when to attack a defender and draw a foul. We're definitely lacking there. Hope the coaches can bring him here, nobody needs him more.

Maybe Miller/Purvis can become roomies???? :)

Yea..I hate schools that don't overemphasize sports and think academics and the student athlete are important.

I hate that too, but how does this rule promote that? The kid would be starting grad school at Cornell. The rule makes no sense, and causes some kids to interrupt their academic careers.

I'm guessing he thinks that grad work is where the line is. That it's impossible to balance that schedule and athletics.

Not sure why he's so sanctimonious about that opinion though.

Eagerly awaiting new updates on the shonn miller front. Please share any and all news as it unfolds!

I would love to see lubin play some football....got great feet for someone his size

Another plus that Miller would bring: passing (in addition to basketball and likely non-basketball IQ). He averaged 1 assist per game. Kelis Fisher averaged an assist every 2.5 games, AB every 5 games and PN every 10 games and none of them looked comfortable in passing the ball.

Cut and paste huh? lol

Hmmm. My kid got into Cornell and got a nice grant package. We are going up for a prospective student visit. Maybe I will head over to the gym and see if I can't bump into Shonn while wearing some UConn garb.
Congrats...that is quite an achievement!
