Shonn Miller (Cornell Transfer) Met With UCONN

From this tape he should be a great addition to UConn. He seems to play exceptionally well in empty stadiums, a must for our road trips in the AAC, specifically USF, Houston and Southwestern Appalachian Tech.
hahahahaha!!! :D did you come up with that all by yourself!? original!!! Hysterical!!

I want to call him out too but hes 100% correct

No jokes please, but are people being a little too generous in translating his Ivy League numbers to our team?

People are being wonderfully accurate in assessing his abilities and comparing them to what we currently have in-house.

Facey moved Nolan out of the starting position and Nolan was a junior that is very telling of our big man problem. Later Facey lost the position.

Brimah was benched late season quite often for lack of productivity.

Lubin was not D1 ready.

Enoch is a freshman.

Also who is really testing/pushing our bigs in practice? I still contend that Brimah probably looks NBA ready in practice.

We are desperate and any 'experienced' big man is welcomed. To me he'd be perfect particularly for the development of our young bigs.

Those are some of the reasons why I want him, not even considering Ivy league numbers.

We still need another ball handler, even if just an excellent dribbler.

And somehow Princeton had a better RPI than the cellar dwellers too

Im too lazy to look up stats but Harvard and Yale were better than the whole bottom half of the AAC so maybe look at those games.

Interesting, his one game stats are better than Phil's one month stats.

He is graduating per the 1st link. With an ivy BA/BS, it kids all about basketball future, a ring and then he can transfer to finish the Masters.
RJ went on to play, Lassan has a ring. Ollie has good cards to play.

tcf beat me to it. Averaged 10 pts & 11 rebounds in 2 games against Yale. 2 games against Harvard avg. 17 & 11.5.
Cuse 12 & 5.
If we get 50% of those numbers( I know we will get more), it would be an upgrade, plus maturity, basketball experience

Nice! I like how his all around productivity remains the same despite some bad shooting nights.

I'd put him on the back burner but if he could be a consolation prize to our top targets I'd say go for it instead of allowing scholarships to rot on the vine. Another big body in practice couldn't hurt if anything.
No doubt, I'd rather have miller, but 10 points and 5 boards in the BE aint bad.

And if you go back to his sophomore year, he had 13 (4 of 10, 5 of 5) and 15 against Vanderbilt, and 14 (7 of 10) and 6 against Duke.

Your last question answered your first question.

In this particular instance, I think we're better off not hosting a one-year NBA audition.
Doltt! My bad. I've been out of the loop of college hoops back stories like that since I had kids. No idea about the kid's father.

I think this is a really important, under-discussed issue.

Our bigs have failed to develop the way we were used to seeing. Consider this contrast:

In the mid-2000's, Hilton Armstrong practiced against Emeka Okafor, Charlie Villanueva, and Josh Boone. Of course his game was going to improve being tested against those guys.

Now, Brimah has to "best" Nolan, Facey, and Lubin. Not hard to do.

I would not say that they wer better. I had better records. I am sure the season would have been a spilt with some of the bottom teams. Both Yale and Harvard had some bad losses. At any rate I am with you. Bring the guy in and I am sure he will bring experience. If he knows how to use his size affectively, well be better.

Sounds like a perfect pickup for next season's Huskies. Getting excited about returning to the tourney next year!
