2015 and people are still engaging chap, why??? Got the guy on ignore and still can't escape the nonsense.
He's annoying to decipher but not typically way off base (in my opinion) like he is in this thread.

The weird thing about chap is that a large majority of his screeds are ignored, and yet he keeps at it, undeterred. Some folks enjoy getting a rise out of people but he just seems to be happy bleating his special brand of crazy to nobody.

He actually showed up on Reddit and got downvoted to oblivion, and hasn't been back. I found that to be interesting.

72 is a joke.

Hoop Hall Classic Recap: VJ King had a great performance yesterday 38 points 5 rebounds

Update from Louisville and UK writer from this weekend:

After scoring 38 points in a loss Monday at the Spalding HoopHall Classic, the 6-foot-7 King mentioned UK, U of L, North Carolina and Florida as schools he wants to visit this spring.
---
King, who plans to sign with a college in November, has no set recruiting list right now and said most major programs around the country are contacting him. Arizona and UConn were some of the others he mentioned off the top of his head that are recruiting him hard.
---
King said he and Tatum, arguably the top player in the entire 2016 class, have talked about playing together in college, but he declined to name which common schools they’re considering. At least some of the common ones – based on Tatum’s list of 10 and King’s Monday comments of who’s recruiting him – would be UK, Arizona and Connecticut.
---
UConn coach Kevin Ollie attended Monday’s game, and King has visited there.

“I could definitely see myself being in one of those jerseys someday,” he said.

I find it to be an incredible game, piecing together what he posted based solely upon the response of others. There he been all sorts of upside in ignoring him.

yea, when I saw chap leak onto reddit I legit cringed and had to apologize to others for him.

His name on Reddit is "Chapbeezvogul"?

Besides a few Chap-like posts, he has actually been quite legible.

UConn: “I think I saw Kevin Ollie out of the corner of my eye. It’s a great program with great people. That was one of the visits I took before the season started. Just a great atmosphere, and great coaching staff. I could definitely see myself in one of those jerseys right now.”

very kind words!

Yeah but "Kentucky speaks for itself. Cal puts people int he league" LOL

He would be a great get. Lots of hurdles though - good news is his mom said Arizona is too far away.

I feel like Tatum and King kind of play the same position, unless King can play the 2 or Tatum the 4.

Regardless, good chance I'd blow a load in my pants if they both committed here.

Seriously it's like I ignore Justin Bieber, but still am forced to hear other people talking about him.

I think Zags edited the real quote...

"Just a great atmosphere, and great coaching staff...well aside from that creepy old dude Glen Miller"

The list of interested schools concerns me. I feel as if we don't lock up a verbal with some of these high rising kids early on, we're not going to stand a chance against any of the top P5 schools. IMO, right now the primary attraction to UConn is the Kevin Ollie factor. Our conference affiliation is going to continue to kill us. Hopefully he can close the deal on some kids like DHam who highly value Ollie mentoring them into quality men and basketball players.

I realize that we are the most successful college basketball team in the last decade or so winning four national championships, but when it comes down to playing for a Kentucky or Kansas who both play in P5 conferences, it's clearly an uphill recruiting battle, not to mention that we've lost some pretty good ones lately to programs like VCU and UNLV.

VCU still has recruiting appeal. Shaka Smart seems like someone these guys would want to play for. Energetic, passionate. Plus they've have some success in the tournament in recent years.

UNLV I have a bit harder time figuring that one out. All I can come up with its Vegas and yeah ....Vegas rules.

With all that said, I think UConn generally attracts the right guys. It takes character to come to Storrs, CT when you could be going to a Florida, Kentucky, UCLA, Duke or North Carolina. Climates in these places are just much better. I'd have to think it makes a big difference.

VCU's living off of one miracle run to the Final Four. They've been first weekend fodder ever since.

Yeah. Last year was their first one and done in awhile. The 2 years prior they won a game. The year before that was the Final 4.

I get your point. I just dont think VCU out-recruits UConn by any means. They got one guy we wanted, but I think they'd generally kill for what we do on a year to year basis.

They've beaten us the last two years for Terry Larrier and Tevin Mack.

Were they able to get onto those guys earlier than us because of better talent identification, or because we were hamstrung from getting onto the trail because of our APR sanctions?

Bingo.

What we fail to realize is that recruiting is based so much on how coaches connect with players. You could have the best program in the country, but if you're a dull SOB without social skills, it won't matter.

Parents and kids have raved about KO's personality, but here's the thing: that part of him is not unique. There are other charismatic dudes out there working just as hard (maybe harder) than him.

As for UNLV, I'll say this: Dave Rice has been recruiting for over twenty years. KO has been doing so for less than five.

Didn't we not get in on Mack until late?

VCU was in on Mack at least 5 months before we were. We were also very late on Larrier, though I'm not certain of the timeline.
