September 2019 WNBA Discussions, scores, game info, pictures

Lynx answer w/ a 6-0 run. 71-67 w/ 5:44 left. I think this one is going down to the wire.

Win or lose, Lynx have shown some great resiliency. Pheesa with a double / double

Loyd just got leveled by Big Syl, no call. Good grief refs, do your job.

Minnesota has kinda fallen apart last 2 minutes. No points, about as many turnovers as shot attempts. But Seattle has only scored 3 in that time. Game has gotten ugly.

edit--scratch that, 4 straight TOs for the Lynx according to the announcer

I know some of this is Seattle playing well at home, especially on D, but Minnesota looks bad.

I'm so puzzled as to how Chicago lost to them 3 times at beat every other team at least once.

I definitely jinxed Minnesota. They haven't scored in more than 4 minutes. 76-67 w/ 1:14 left.

Syl just leveled Canada on a pick. She's been crushing people w/out drawing fouls. How does that work?

Seattle leaving a few points on the board w/ missed FTs. Collier finally broke the Lynx drought w/ 1 of 2 FTs, then Dantas hit a 3. 80-71 w/ 36 seconds left.

starting back court scoring--Seattle 44 Minnesota 1

If your offense consists of trying to force every possession into the post, this is what you get.

Uh, because there's such a thing as a legal pick?

Uh, because there's such a thing as a legal pick?

There's also extending your arms which makes it an illegal pick. But the one I complained about earlier where she clobbered Loyd on a drive w/ no call, there's no defending that one. She's big and she's physical, and in this game she got away w/ a lot of what should've been called fouls.

Loyd and Canada outscored Sims and Robinson 44-1. Ouch.
Even worse, ended up 48-1. Career high 26 for Canada.

Game set match there. Backcourt subs for Minnestoa (Brown/Augustus) had 11 and Seattle (Zellous, Whitcomb) had 10, so that was kind of a wash (although Whitcomb and Zellous each hit a big hoop to get back to a 10-point lead...timing is everything!).

Here's an AP article and box score from the Times:

The pony tailed Samuelson. I am not sure if it is an exhibition game as I dont think the season started yet. By the way, nice ref shirts (note if there more than one video in the tweet, it is video #2)

I watch Ezi play Mississippi State in the World University Games - she looked very overrated. I wasn’t impressed.

Back and forth early in LA vs. Seattle game. Sparks missed 5 straight shots but warming up now. Canada has 3 driving layups already and is shooting an and-1 after the first TV TO. 11-10 LA.

Howard is going off! 10-0 run for Seattle, up 18-11, Howard has 12 already.

edit--but she just picked up her 2nd foul, seems like she's ALWAYS in foul trouble

9-0 run for LA as soon as Howard went out. Predictable.

23-22 Seattle after Q1. Entertaining game so far.

edit--Storm shooting the ball really well, doubt they can keep it up, Sparks will probably pull away as the game continues

Gray is unbelievably good.

She was quiet early, but has since taken over the game.

Occasionally I get something right. Seattle offense has disappeared entirely in Q2. Only way they are scoring is FTs. 38-29 LA.

I am very impressed with LA's offensive movement and team play. I have to give credit to Fisher. They look very professional and balanced and it does not hurt that they have Chelsea Gray. Mama mia.

Somehow Seattle had closed to within 4, but Gray hit another 3. 43-36 LA at halftime. Gray has 16, otherwise 7 players have scored between 6 and 2.
