I already feel for ole Sam. When he gets torched by Soriano in his first minutes my goodness I don’t want to be him on the BY
Now say the Bears missed the plane flight and it was only coach Ditka against the Giants. Who would win?Great news.
New starting lineup...Samson Johnson.

But can he play PG?If he is as good as advertised it’s a game changer .
The 2014 team took an exponential jump when Brimah emerged as a rim protector.
That simple change took a team from very good to great.
keeping my fingers crossed.
Samson would gameplan Ditka for the WNow say the Bears missed the plane flight and it was only coach Ditka against the Giants. Who would win?
Rumors are that photos of his shot are on saleThis is going to be huge for the offense, finally have a guy who can create his own shot

Listen to Rob Dauster first podcast this season. Virginia coaches were only talking about Samson. Says he is a freak athlete and we’re impressed more by him.Yeah. Because karaban was injured. I hope nothing but the best from Samson. But he was not great during preseason practices. Karaban was.
See aboveYou can tell certain posters are realllly afraid he might actually make a difference.
If you are going to start a sentence with a number, it should always be spelled out.41 posts in, and I don't recall seeing a single misspelling. That has to count for something.
Which is a good example of why Samson will help if he's truly healthy, but is not really a good judgement of Karaban vs Johnson when Karaban didn't play in either scrimmageListen to Rob Dauster first podcast this season. Not saying he will help us much since it might take time but if he wasn’t hurt he would spell Karaban when he struggled.
I don't see any negativity, just cautiousness. Feel like people were burned by Akok's injuries and high expectations. I think it's a huge boost getting him back, but have no problem with people taking a wait and see approachI, for one, am excited about our former top 60 PF recruit, and projected pre season rotation player returning. Best case scenario he contributes something, worst case we can survive without him. People are so negative.
AK and Sanogo are likely going to remain the starters but I’d like Hurley to stagger their substitutions so we can get those pairings for the 10 mpg or so that I think/hope Samson will getI think a defensive rotation of Samson/Sanogo and Karaban/Clingan compliment each other extremely well.
I don’t wanna name people, because the back and fourth over a guy who hasn’t played isn’t worth it. But I think there’s some people who are convinced he won’t be a contributor already. And considering how well this staff develops players, I don’t understand their point of view.I don't see any negativity, just cautiousness. Thats the spiritHe probably will not be able to stay on the floor
I’m not comparing the 2. I’m responding to someone who said Johnson wasn’t great at all during practices. Which may be correct but he was good enough in the Virginia scrimmage to get the Virgina coaches talking.Which is a good example of why Samson will help if he's truly healthy, but is not really a good judgement of Karaban vs Johnson when Karaban didn't play in either scrimmageI

This is where I come down. We're past the "make your mistakes" part of the season. Is Hurley going to let him make mistakes at St John's or at Seton Hall, middling teams that we absolutely need to beat on the road because we dug ourselves a hole already. The margin of error is now zero and there are still plenty of games left against teams that can beat us if we're not bringing B+ or better.I really don't expect much from Samson besides energy.
This is going to be his first real action in 2 years and its coming off an injury in the heart of conference season. lol
Maybe he'll be ready to contribute by tournament time if Hurley gives him the leash to make mistakes. Cause there's going to be a lot of them I expect.

Yup. I agree with this post. While we’re easing in Samson to help maximize his abilities, AK will get more favorable matchups and make him even better. A true win-win.AK and Sanogo are likely going to remain the starters but I’d like Hurley to stagger their substitutions so we can get those pairings for the 10 mpg or so that I think/hope Samson will get
Right, we could be looking at another Akok situation for the rest of this year as far as Samson goes. This is where I come down. We're past the "make your mistakes" part of the season.
